I've looked around in the normal reviews and places, but can't seem to find any great sources of high ISO images from the A77II.

Currently B&H has the A77II body at a very attractive price. I'm thinking of upgrading my A77 to the A77II, but want to really look at some samples of the high speed ISO images, but I'm not finding any. So, if people have any links they can share, I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks! I'm really not sure why I didn't find those basketball photos! That is similar to what I'll be doing so that comparison with some of the photos from last year that I took should help me.

Thanks again!

Your statement about 1 additional stop matches what two reviews I've seen mention. Thanks!

Most of the comparisons I see are JPEG-based. The newer JPEG engine of the A77ii is a leap beyond what the A77 could do. But I shoot RAW and really wanted to see RAW comparisons. While I don't think they're great here's a comparison of RAW ISO I did some time ago:

Look at the differences in shutter speed and tell us what you think.

Raw files processed with DXO 10!

A couple basketball shots at 3200 too! http://www.darrylreynoldsphotography.com/p592344786/h2184bbce#h2184bbce and http://www.darrylreynoldsphotography.com/p592344786/h19b88e87#h19b88e87

Here are a few ISO3200 shots, RAW converted to JPEG. They are 100% crops when viewing the original. I believe the first two I had chroma noise reduction on but at a fairly low level in Lightroom (usually around a setting of 10-15 at most). Luminance noise reduction I almost never turn on (leaving set to 0). The third shot had little to no noise reduction done at all, if I recall correctly.

Overall, for the few times I need it, I have been pretty satisfied with the A77II's high ISO. When it does get used I will shoot up to 1-2 stops higher than I would have ever shot with my A77. On my A77, ISO 1600 was usually the limit with an occasional blip to ISO3200. Anything higher and I am converting it to black and white. With the A77II, I'll go up to ISO3200 or even ISO6400 when needed. Above that I usually don't venture, but for me that would be black and white territory.

is only a little better then the A77.I would take it up to maximum of ISO 1600 without much noise. It is definitely not great for indoor sports. I am still using my A99 for sports. For high speed ISO performance currently there are only 2 choices ie. Nikon D4/D4s or Canon 1Dx.

Looking at some sample from last year (where I should add I actually used the A7 the entire basketball season), I ended up using a range from 4000-6400 ISO. So, that's what I would define as high ISO. One game last year, I forced myself to use the A77 half of the game, and the A7 the other half. While the A77 images are usable, the A7 handled the higher ISO better and had a lot less noise and what was there didn't seem to distract my eye as much.

I am forced to use quite high ISO since the indoor games are played in darker gyms (high school gyms). All that being said, I do this to help out my daughter's school, so I'm still trying to figure out if I want to stay with the A7 again for Basketball or invest in a new A77II. The B&H price is making it hard to pass up though.

I find my A77ii is a full stop better than my A77ii.

Looking at the photos it looked like a tie to me also.

That's an interesting talent. Do you give them separate names so you can tell the twins apart?

Hopefully one day you get the chance to try the Minolta 80-200 HS G lens on the A77m2 it focus a lot faster than the Sony 70-200 G1
