At the moment i have only a LX100 and 2 Panasonic lenses the 14-140 f3.5 an the 12-32 f3.5 .

Im in the market for a new body and considering the Panasonic G7 or Olympus E-M10 II .

Panasonic G7 has a + for grip and video for me .

- for looks and Plastic feeling,Battery life for video

Olympus has + for Looks ,IBIS and AF point selection (by touchscreen while using EVF).

- for grip

I will use the camera 75% for pictures and 25% for video .

Also taking in considering next year going to Namibia so i do also need a zoom lens for my new camera.

What camera will be the best choice for me at the moment ?

Thx Bill

The G7 does have AF point selection via the touchscreen LCD.

You might consider more features like focus peaking, zebras to predict blown highlights and shadows w/o detail, 4K photo mode. You need to go beyond the buzzwords to get feedback on how well the features work.

If you are going to do video, the manual movie mode on Panasonics prevents the exposure from changing when panning. Just a tip - when panning put the o.i.s in pan mode.

I think the focus peaking is more useful than ibis if you had to make a choice.

You should consider weathersealed equipment in case of dust storms or high jungle humidity.

Tromboning lenses can allow dust or water vapor in the lens in harsh conditions, so consider a lens that internally zooms. But that is rare.

The plastic body is really more like body armor, and is rugged. The alloy bodies are designed to disipate heat when pros are shooting continually all day long.

Does the E-M10 II not have focus peaking?
