Tim, I am as anxious as you are. I bought my 1270 from outpost.com and I just received an e-mail from them offering a glossy waterproof paper like Premium Glossy. I think we may have to look elsewhere for a while. All of the prints that I have made on premium glossy ( Got it from B&H Photo, NY) have retained there vivid color - no shift. However, I printed an 11X17 and the color shifted dramatically after about a week. The next image , on the the same paper from the same box, still looks great! Go figure!. I really do think it is the paper though. I have printed dozens of photos on the "Glossy Photo Paper". the stuff you can buy 50 sheets for $12.00+ -.
All of those prints are fine but definately not the quality of premium glossy paper. I am going to experiment a little and see what works and what doesn't. I have heard that several new papers for the Epson 2000 will also work with the 1270. I love the printer but I sure would like some high quality glossy paper to work with. Good Luck & Best Wishes.

Tim, I just came from the Printer Forum which addresses some of the problems with papers. Take a look, there is some good info there!
Best Regards,
