First of all thanks to all the participants.
It's always difficult to choose a 'winner' in this kind of competitions so I just followed my 'gut feeling' and choose the three I like best within the scope of the assignment. Don't be put off if you didn't 'win', keep on shootin' ;-) And keep an eye out for wild animals in the urban environment as this gives great opportunities for serious photos.
#3: Brzda Exactly the kind of image I like while it has the 'smell' of good observation over a longer period. That said the composition seems to be derived from the central focus point while it's 'a bird' so it doesn't get any bonus points. http://1.static.img-dpreview.com/files/p/TS560x560~forums/56480379/d6ac1290cc39467ab0e2104c2d605276

#2: guilford Good composition, interaction and not 'birds' so the bonus points apply. On the negative side I get the feeling the photog shot this in his backyard. http://3.static.img-dpreview.com/files/p/TS560x560~forums/56486935/efcebb883a774e6eb3c5a4bf5c22bd20

#1: JEO126 Great composition with a touch of humor, which I like very much! Although surely a lot of luck came into the equation (doesn't it always?) the photog recognized the situation and made the most of his luck so he wins, despite the lack of no-bird bonus points. Congratulations! http://3.static.img-dpreview.com/files/p/TS560x560~forums/56482940/8f029877e3d14a5cb43db8fcd7a1fc8b
