Hi all

On my D610 in Focus mode S / S, I remember I used to leave the focus mode button pressed and could move the focus small square around. At the moment it is stuck in the upper left quadrant of the focus area but it won't move when I press the down or right arrows. Why could this be?

Try half-tapping the shutter button, then try moving the focus point.

It has a focus point lock switch around the big arrows button. Make sure it is not in the Lock position.

This happens (to me at least) so often that perhaps Nikon should think about having some sort of hard-to-miss visual indicator in the viewfinder that the point is locked. Even though it's happened to me more than once I always first think that the camera is broken -- perhaps because the little round joystick button is the most rickety part of the camera.

You can't have every verification indicators on the camera, otherwise it becomes too cluttered with the non essentials, which would masked some of the more important warnings. So, I suggest that this is a non issue.

Happens to me from time to time too... doesn't take too long to figure out, but I do wish it was harder to activate... maybe the focus lock switch should have a lock of its own!
