new A7R2 firmware v1.10

Can anybody check if they added S35/APS-C toggle and Eye-AF toggle assignment options for the Custom buttons?

OK what am I missing here? They announce that they will issue a firmware upgrade dealing with lossy compression and then a week later a firmware upgrade comes out that doesn't address that at all?

Did they say some future upgrade will deal with the RAW compression?

I doubt that will get released before the A7s hits the shelves.

They did, they never said v1.10 would address it or 'the next' firmware update will address it etc. it is coming, but it isn't this update.

Does anybody try long exposure test? I could not download the file due to internet connection is very slow.
yes tried a 30 secs and a 60 secs shot with long exposure NR off at iso100. now there is almost no chroma noise/hot red/white/blue pixels.

Hey guys,

I can confirm: the colored dots are gone.

Version 1.1
Version 1.1

Version 1.0
Version 1.0

Light is very different because the firmware update took like 30mins or so and it went completely dark by that time. So Version 1.0 had more light and F6.3... with firmware 1.1 I set it to F3.5 just because it was much darker. ISO was set to 100 and I pushed the image +5 stops in lightroom.

If anyone wants the RAW files... I can upload them.

Please don't take this as a perfect reference (I probably didn't even nail the focus as it was dark)... different apertures and lighting in both pictures... but the hot pixels are gone :)

Can someone who owns one please test the 70-200 in less than ideal lighting conditions (indoors with regular room lighting) with the new firmware? I hate to say this but while this lens was never real stellar focusing in this situation I think mine has gotten far worse after the update. The camera just does not lock focus in far too many instances now and sometimes when it does, it appears to be back focusing.

New firmware for A7R2 is now available for download. saw this in a singapore clubsnap forum post (http://www.clubsnap.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1529538&p=9217505#post9217505)

Benefits of Update:

Improved a symptom to rarely become front focus depend on shooting scene.
Decreased chroma noise when long exposure NR is set off.
Improved Hi continuous shooting speed when using with the flash.

Just a heads up - because this has happened alot with Sony Firmware updates:

Make sure you use a proper USB cord. Specifically the one that came with the camera. Cheap USB cords tend to lose communication and cause the firmware to fail in the middle. If this happens you might notice that you are unable to turn the camera on or just get a blank screen. Take the batteries out, put them back in - replace the USB cord and run the update again.

Simply using the right USB cord will save so much time and frustration. After having the above happen when updating my A7 and spending hours with a camera I thought was "bricked".

Just wanted to pass along the knowledge.

i will give it a try tonight.

was trying out my adapted lenses and manual lenses last night to see the effect of the chroma noise reduction and if it had any impact on my metabones IV AF.

Unfortunately my SAL70200G+LAEA3 is still front focusing after the update.
With the adapter doesn't that allow you to do the micro adjust?
