Interesting shot...nice work on the Flickr page too...like the Artist Point shot, it's a fun ride getting up there.

We're getting a lot of Vancouverites in here...great place for photography between the city and a few steps away from great outdoor locations.

Thanks herbymel, I guess I'm in the minority on this shot, for some reason though I really like it, maybe people prefer realism in their photos. I'm still learning.

Yes the trip to Artist Point was a great one and I got a lot of pictures, I was hoping to get the wild flowers but I was a bit early, maybe next year. Looking forward to getting out and getting some more shots.

Around here there needs to be a bird in it ;)

Actually with the dry weather you were a bit late this year, did a hike around the other side about the same time and everything had already peaked by then.

Herb, take a closer look! There are birds lining the piers ;-) however the time parameter for POTW might need to be mentioned for future reference for OP!

Love the colors!

peering from my lookout,
focusing my prism,
from the land of Nod,
to the very edge of Eden....
Ahh yes, so I see...POTW posts do have to come within two weeks of when your photo is posted...I also see mine needed an upgrade :)

This is a great week for pictures. Caught an eagle landing on a guys head and frogs heads for dinner. Every picture is flipping fantastic. I had a couple pictures I thought were good contenders, until I saw the competition. You guys sure raised the bar this week. Well done!

Thanks Brian...I actually prefer my non-eagle version, but just had to have a little fun with that one :) Wait till I come back from my Grizzly bear trip in a couple weeks.

Hey herbymel, where are you going for your Grizzly Bear trip?

Took my 80-400mm VR out. Next to last day of racing for the season. Triple Crown winner American Pharoah was paraded between races. Here is the start of the last race. Light was fading quickly and I didn't realize my shutter speed had gotten so low (1/60th shooting Aparature Priority) even at ISO 1250. Panning I was still able to get enough sharpness (in my opinion) while showing lots of action blur. Like the color and motion in this one.
