Fulltime AF mode on c-750; sounds like?

First-time digital camera owner. I put my C-750 into Fulltime AF mode and was surprised to hear it making a racket while it adjusted its focus. "tick...tick...tick...tick.tick.tick.tick". Ticking Slowly at first, then faster, then silence. Is it normal to hear the clicks? I guess I expected it to sound more fluid; it sounds almost as the elements have difficulty moving, sticking.

Also, I just returned from my visit to Indonesia (Bali, Lombok, Nusa Lembongan) and wanted to upload my pics somewhere to share with members of the forum; at least one member requested I do so. Pbase requires a subscription, are there any good free sites I could utilize instead?

I believe that pBase is still free up to 10mb worth of upload. You can't have an image show on this forum though if you link your image. It has to be linked by text only.

With Full Time AF the camera is making small adjustments all the time. I think it is best to learn to half press and set the exposure and save the batteries. This will also use your batteries up a little faster.

Here is a link to a post about Posting sites.

And I would sure like to see them also.

No, I'm not a Pro, but I did read the Olympus Talk Forum last night.

Caterpillar,

I am fairly new to posting pictures. Do you know how to post a picture from a pabse gallery so that the picture appears in the forum here? All I know how to do is post a link. (I am a pbase supporter). Here is a picture for you:

Yeah, and the ticking sound comes from those adjustments as the camera tries to focus each time the scene changes.

I read that it makes focusing faster, but I did a quick test and wasn't impressed. I leave mine off. The only time I can see to use it would be in "movie mode."
