Hello

Just ordered this lens off ebay for my Sony a5000, I believe it's quite good fun.

I would love some tips like do you have to be in full manual mode or can You use aperture priority?

This is the link to the one I order it says something about c mount but mentions nex series of cameras so I assume its the correct one..

If someone could clarify and explain the c mount and of you can use any other cheap lenses pls.

Thank-you gary

Yep, you can use A mode and your camera will change the shutter speed. Aperture and focus will obviously be manual.

You'll have to crop your images unless you like the big black circle

If you've never used manual lens before;
Menu
No.3
Release w/o lens
Enable

other wise the camera wont recognise the lens.
Also, set focus peaking to medium - At high level it doesn't improve focus as such, just widens the radius that it looks for contrast, so you may end up missing focus.

Mine copy has no circle on A6000 - lens covers the sensor size perfectly.

A lens with an aperture ring can also be used in shutter speed priority mode, IF the ISO is set to Auto. This is helpful if it's a darker scene and you want to ensure a sharp shot. So the camera will select an ISO that's appropriate for the shutter speed that you've set on the camera, and the aperture that you've selected on the lens.

I have a similar lens, Fujian 1.6/35. The only difference that I can see is that it is marked on the lens APS-C even though it is C mount.

I took it out a couple days ago to use with my A6000. It won't put Zeiss out of business but it is fun to use.
