I lived in Canada many years ago when there was a lot of talk about the importance of diversifying away from just being a supplier of raw materials to the world. Your politicians have squandered the opportunity, and made a mess of the environment.

Boy I like to still own that house I had in North Vancouver - it would be a great time to sell!

So what you are saying is that the camera companies are being sympathetic to your plight and have lowered prices so you can more readily afford their products. I really doubt they are that generous.

Why can't someone in the US just order from a place like Henry's? There was a post about this recently. Sounds like the currency conversion is done at check out and warranty still applies from an authorized dealer.
