Surrogate Sigma

Just install Ubuntu or Linux Mint on your PC.
Is RT Mac? I don't have a mac...
I have an Xe1 (not cheaply purchased, sadly) and undemanding as my needs are, I'm quite happy with Lightroom's handling. Not, you understand, that I would be amiss to any tips on how to make it sing!

One or two little things I would complain about:

- the shape works fine with little lenses but front heavy lenses unbalance it. The rangefinder styling or simply a problem with the design of the hand grip?

- it is - slightly - slow at responding to user input

- the single worst thing about it: no histogram on the automatic preview/review image that pops up post capture. Are Fuji the only serious brand that don't offer this feature? Why not!!!!!
Hi

yes by all means.

Tis a Fuji XE1 with 18-55 in Raw Therapee quite an amazing software.

Manipulated with Wavelet transforms, touch of tone mapping and Hald clut

I'm sure a decent prime would do better, for the price they go for used they are an absolute bargain (as are the merrills)

Hi David

All valid points, at original price not so good, at £175 for the body though......

I highly recommend taking the time with Raw Therapee, yes Capture one does a fab job but for nothing RT can't be beat.

PM me if you would like the presets I started from, you will need to install the Huld CLUTS though.

I've had my X-E1 for a couple years now, and it has always been excellent. Glad you like it!

Only recently have I discovered Raw Therapee, and I agree the sharpening choices are very good.

However, the bundled Silkypix raw converter has now gone to version 2. It automatically does CA correction for my X30, making it superior to Raw Therapee for the X30. I believe this new program will also auto correct X-E1 raws, but have not yet tried it. If you know the answer please let me know. However, this might be a discussion best made in the Fuji X forum!
