I am want to buy a Canon so bad, why won't they just Release it!!!

I care a lot about 4k too and reports are, they aren't going to give it to us. I shoot Sony cameras that do have 4k and its flat out amazing. I would like my picture camera, being a Canon, to also have 4k video.

I still export in 1080p but 4k looks so much better in 1080p than 1080p does because you get 3 times the pixels, also less noise. It's extremely sharp. You can also do punch in's without losing resolution. I really hope Canon at least gives the 5D 4k but reports are, they aren't going to do that.

No one is going to build the "camera of your dreams". Especially when you want to get a lower-end camera (presumably at a lower-end price), but with lots of higher-end features.

The limitations in the lower-end cameras are there to persuade you that you want the high-end camera.

If you want the higher-end features, pay for the higher-end camera. If you can't afford a new one, look at second hand.
I might just buy a a7rII with both Batis lenses and the 55, budget isn't the issue, having the money isn't the issue now, it's canons inability to provide customers with the equipment necessary to compete! Does canon have anything to battle Olympus, ahhh no, or Sony, think not, what about the d810 or D750, nope.

Go away, troll.

They are worried about heat issues with the 4k.

Nope. Just looking at your posting history ...then you suddenly come here whining aboUT your post. You don't see me going in other forums on here whining for a specialized camera to be made.

You and the people you call trolls are two sides of the same coin ;)

Quite a few people here can be relied upon, like clockwork, to jump when a "troll" says "Jump!"

Probably see these sort of specs or better in the 5D MK 4.

Funny you should say that - in 2007 I bought a 1Ds III, and at the time it was the highest resolution DSLR available (second highest was the 1Ds II). I was greatly disappointed in Canon in 2012 (5 years later), when they released the 1D X and claimed it was the replacement for the 1Ds - rubbish! (it was a replacement for the 1D, and ONLY the 1D).

That was when I abandoned ship and bought a D800e.

The 5Ds is finally a sequel to the 1Ds III (albeit cheaper and with a smaller battery!) - I am enjoying it a lot.

Guys, I honesty have been in love with Canon glass for awhile now, I really Don't want to go Nikon, I just really don't want to. I went to M43s but still have that itch to really get a Canon Camera FF.

Honestly, lately Canon is looking like Blackberry did 4-5 years ago, very complacent and not really all that concerned about market.

All Canon has to do is either one of these two things to REALLY capture the souls of Amateurs and Semi Pros.

Release 6D mkII
  1. 22.4 mp sensor
  2. ISO 100-25k
  3. 4k Recording without external devices, ALL internal Recording
  4. Same Autofocus system as the 5DmkIII
  5. Shutter up to 1/8000 sec
  6. dual memory card and NFC
  7. full viewfinder
Release 80D with similar specs as the 6D but Crop Sensor

not really - canon (and nikon too really) have around 3-4 year release cycles on their more expensive camera bodies.

however I really doubt the 6D Mark II would be the first. While I am surprised we havent' heard anything about the 1DXII - I suspect that one will be the first to be announced, followed closely by the 5d Mark IV .. 6D last. If canon follows the same pattern as they did in 2012.

Should be any day now.

I'm significantly curious on what they are going to release first and with what for sure.

Rumors last stated an SL2 is coming out this August/Sept (which makes sense really), I wonder if it's going to be partnered with a 1DX Mark II, a 5DIV or a 6DII.. canon historically from my recollection hasn't paired the 5D with anything. The 5D has always had it's own special DSLR release date. the 1D has been paired with other cameras in the past.

another thing to consider is that on August 22, it's the 10 year anniversary of the 5D line - will canon use that to roll out the next edition?

That's next Sat.

But Canon has previously let other landmark dates slide right on by with nary an annoucement.

The actual 6D2 will arrive when it arrives and may not be everything you hope. It is, after all, positioned as entry-level FF. The existing 6D is still a very nice camera, but maybe a bit spartan for some people. At its current bargain price, it's a good deal. When it drops to about $1k or less, as it surely will, it'll be a steal. A 5D3 is still a solid, capable camera, too. If those suit you, great! If not, it's okay to try the competition. It's not like "Canon: GOOD, Nikon: TERRIBLE!" I think they're both really good. It's down to $$ and personal priorities.
