sony a6000 screen "blinking" via HDMI out

When I connect my a6000 either in live or playback mode via HDMI out, screen starts flickering on both my camera and the TV. I tried connecting to a different TV as well but with no luck.

What do you think is wrong here? am I missing something?

Have you tried with different cable? Did you use the HDMI out before? It might be a faulty cable, it might be a faulty HDMI out (soldering getting just a bit loose), both resulting in intermittent contact errors. Plus try putting it on something stable if you are holding it to prevent the cable from moving even a tiny bit.

I had the same exact problem and it was the cable. I replaced the cable in the problem went away.

I have exactly the same problem but it is on a brand new sony a6400. If I don't resolve this in the coming days, I will use the warranty. Any help would be highly appreciated.
