Are you a happy camper?

I'm happy with what I have. For what I photograph, my cameras are more than just fine. I would like another 6D or 5D III so I don't have to change lenses when photographing events but don't feel like I need anything newer than that to accomplish what I need to accomplish. If anything, I could use new lenses for practical purposes (i.e. 70-200mm f2.8 IS so I can stop renting it every time to need it). 7D II would be a nice upgrade for my 7D but I don't shoot fast action enough to justify the purchase ahead of my other needs at this time.

I am quite happy with the camper we bought this spring:

We've taken it on several weekends so far. On one trip I had an easy opportunity to add to my collection of dam photographs:

On our next trip, we wandered out to Cape Disappointment:

When we took the time to venture up to the lighthouse and see the cape, the fog did make the photographic opportunities a disappointment. But the kids and the dog sure had fun on the ocean beach, so we were all pretty happy campers:

I have the latest camera model, but I don't enjoy it as much as I should. Probably because I don't like how Sony lenses render.

As it is, I will always be a stranger who never feels at home, who does not really want and is not really wanted, who can never belong, who must always be a little in love with death." - Eugene O'Neil

Oh, you meant happy with my camera. Never mind. :-)

Odd question.

What insights do you seek? Or, are you building a platform for a planned lecture?

Being a hoser is aboot being respectful, eh?
Sorry, I can't make sense of that response either.

One wonders what thoughtful musings motivated the question to be posed, and what you anticipated to discover with the responses. I'm not very clever, sometimes need it spelled out in simple terms.

Happy with what I have but would like to have a smaller kit for travel. Frustrated that there are no good options for a Canon user, at least imho. Would really love a small kit that could use/focus my L glass reliably as a back-up.

I'm a bit mystified by Canon on this situation. Hoping things will change. Perhaps Canon will launch an M4 and deign to market it to the USA, or Sony will improve its focus of Canon glass on its successor to the A6000.

Otherwise, my frustration benefits my wallet, at least for the time being.

I'm happy with two micro four thirds cameras. I would, however, buy a Sony A7RII if I had too much money, too big hands, and too much time to do 400x crops to find Waldo in my photos.

I always want the latest, greatest camera model . . . but I'm happy with what I have because what I have is (1) paid for and (2) works just fine.
