Are you a happy camper?

With a new X100T in my bag? You bet I am. It was a wild indulgence and the budget will feel the impact for months if not years, but I think its a long term keeper.

So of course I'm happy. Baring an accident, It would probably take at least a 50mp+ sensor with the same or better noise/dynamic range, all the improvements of the D810, and more AF points (especially cross type points on or closer to the edges) with improved accuracy for me to upgrade and even then I would have to have all or at least most of the lenses I want first.

I'm happy with the image quality of my DSLR but not with the bulk, weight and conspicuous nature of them. It only comes out occasionally because of this and almost always has a flat battery as a result.

I look at the new mirrorless cameras and like the size, concealability and weight. Image quality isn't quite as good as that of a DSLR but its not far behind. The really interesting things are WiFi and Bluetooth.

My phone does almost all the photography I'd like to do but not the funky stuff like high speed and astrophotography. I'm going to wait a bit though before getting a newer camera. The j5 looks ideal but I'm not paying $500 for a $50 camera.

If all my gear got stolen, my replacement gear would be as close to my current collection as possible.

Yep. picked up a brand new em5 4 days ago $280au , and today picked up a new 30 sigma art $150au

awsome.

cheers don

Do you want that latest camera model? Or, are you happy with what you have?
Happy camper here (70D). Would love to have the latest camera model (or several, + 2 assistants, a full-time pp guru + 3 more Canon "L" series lenses, .. and a butler to clean out the tent) but that's not going to change the happiness quotient of my happy camper status. Unless, the butler is really good :-D

Happy with what I have until the next EM-1 comes out.

there are other things to buy. A faster normal zoom for my D610, better lighting, a better system for portrait backgrounds, some extra memory cards...

Odd question.

What insights do you seek? Or, are you building a platform for a planned lecture?

yup, I'm happy. I would love to get the T6i, but I'm in no rush.

That's why I got a diaper bag to haul it around in.
