Both from 6th Avenue via eBay, a seller I've oddly enough bought from before:

If legit, it should be a grey market item (like the item I previously bought from them), something I didn't even know existed for Samsung cameras.

I doubt if anyone would take the risk of buying from them after reading their negative feedback over the last 6 months.

My experience with them (1 year ago) wasn't that bad, other than the fact that the camera kit I bought from them (New Jersey) arrived to me (Florida) the same day the lens/adapter combo I bought for the same camera a day later from a seller in... China. The price for the camera I bough was also significantly lower than other sellers, but that was a close out on a camera that had been discontinued for more than 6 months. The NX500 was introduced less than 6 months ago! There have been 15 takers as of now, and since the sale is through eBay, I guess there is no risk involved, again my opinion. Hope to hear around here from some of the takers.

I bought one a couple of days ago. Ebay and Paypal have enough buyer protection that it's worth risk. I also expect it to be grey but I can live with that for this price.

I ordered two items from 6th Avenue electronics (off of eBay) over the past year. Both were at great prices, they being:

The Panasonic 12-32 (which is equivalent to a 24-64 MM zoom) pancake zoom. It's one sharp lens and when I saw the low price, I jumped! But when I received this lens (which was separated from a camera kit), it included...now get this...no front or rear lens caps at all. It was flimsily wrapped and bounced around the box. Luckily all was well (no lens scratches and it worked perfectly) and when I contacted them to inquire as to why there was not a front or rear lens cap, they responded in very terse terms, "sorry, this is how the lens came!!!!" And when you contact them with specifics, they will never give you a straight answer.

So OK I thought, I'll give them another chance. Then a few months later they had a Panasonic DMC-GF6 camera at a great price, so I figured, I'll try 'em again. The camera arrived in the box (with all accessories), and now get this...but with no body cavity cap to protect it from dirt or debris getting on the sensor! I was so friekin' angry that I shot off several emails to them - and they responded in vague, general terms. When I gave them a bad review, a week later I get an email from their customer service manager asking me that if I withdrew the bad review, they'd send me two extra batteries for the camera (3rd party of course). I asked him, "how about including a camera body cap," to which he replied...2 days later, "sorry, we couldn't find one." I told him to stick his offer where the sun doesn't shine.

So be careful. Now do note, both items that I ordered worked just fine and I found the necessary lens and body caps (which are a dime a dozen), but to have to do this when it is originally part of the item packages, is distressing. It is obvious that they could care less about quality control (everything done in a hurry). They usually separate lenses from the cameras and sell everything separately to try and make an extra buck here and there.

So buyer beware...

Well, the kit with lens is back up at$620 but strangely the body only deal is still on.

I bought a lens from 6ave that was listed as "new" plus it came with accessories for a used price. I didnt believe it, when the lens showed up it was obviously used, but considering what i paid i can live with that.

NX500 body for $350 is a hot deal, wish i had the money.

I took the leap. The body only is too cheap to pass up.

I've been eyeballing cameras that do 4k. This is probably the least expensive case of G.A.S. I've had! lol

I've been looking for a 2nd camera more portable than my NX1. Nothing made sense with interchangeable lenses except another Samsung because I would have to duplicate lenses.

I bought an FZ1000 recently which is superb, but it is also never small. I'll get rid of it and have money left over for another lens.

My expectations are the NX500 will be used and in good condition. The ad said 'new' so maybe I will be pleasently surprised.

From the looks of your gear list, I think you should see a doctor, your G.A.S. is getting way out of hand buddy!

*sigh*

I really do. There's stuff that I haven't added in there either lol I started to dabble in video, but I don't know how far into the deep end I want to jump. I figure this is the least expensive way to play around with 4k.

Although if I get into it, I can get the A7S, which has been my dream camera since it came out. :)

Are you including his wish list? There are many people with a lot more kit than he has.

And so should a shrink dedicade him/herself to the business of picking up G.A.S. afflicted photogs on photo related forums and make a fortune out of US! It's a win-win situation, the shrink makes a fortune, in turn WE save a fortune by learning to keep our fingers away from the trigger!

But really, 4/3s, Sony FF, and now Samsung APS-C, he's a real case there! Although you could also say he's got a full stable of horses for courses :-D

I have a NX500 from day one. I preordered it and paid $800

for $345 I had to but another body, have to be crazy not to

Well, grab'em while you can, the kit deal is back on, but now for $2 more! I guess they realized that nobody was biting at the "regular" price. Now I wonder how low will it get by end of year? In any case, it's currently the cheapest way into 4k with anyting other than a smart phone I guess.

I bought one a couple of days ago. Ebay and Paypal have enough buyer protection that it's worth risk. I also expect it to be grey but I can live with that for this price.

I received my NX500 kit last night and it appears to be a new Canadian import. I see no signs it's been used. There is one possible oddity but not a major one. The camera and lens are black but the AC charger and USB cable are white. I've never had a white Samsung body so I can't say if they come with white versions of the cable and AC charger. I'm sure someone here knows. They may have moved some pieces around but it's certainly not a good reason to return the kit.

For the price the AC charger can be any color. I have a white 16-50mm PZ on my black NX1 already and the NX500 I ordered is black too. But everyone knows white lenses are high-end and professional, right? :)

Now I am even more excited about this purchase.
