I have used windows before. Recently switched to Mac: the new 12 inch Macbook.

In windows, on firefox, I know how to attach photos to an email.

But in Safari, in Yahoo mail, I click attach paper clip icon, but it does not allow me to choose the photo that i need.

Thanks.

It should do ! My mate uses it this way all the time. But Yahoo is often having problems with things not working. Not sure what you mean by not allow you! What happens ? Do you get some message like access denied ?

I do it all the time between Safari & Yahoo Mail so yes, it should work.

Check Safari Preferences and play w/ Java/Javascript settings; they may be disabled or something.

You can also try/download Firefox for Mac and even setup Apple Mail to get/send Yahoo mail

In addition to/related to that good advice is to check if you are using any ad blockers/privacy enhancers or malware blockers with your web browser. Some of those break some web site controls. If you are using one of those you may have to whitelist the web sites that it breaks.

Many thanks for all the help.

In Windows, Internet explorer, firefox, I click on the "paper clip" icon which stands for "attachment". Then, there should be a windows that let me go to My documents\My pictures\Disney 2015\Mickey.jpg

However, for Safari on Macbook, I can click on the "paper clip" icon. I can also see a file selection windows. I can get to photos folder. However, I failed to see the Disney 2015 folder, or Mickey.jpg
I have no idea if it's Safari (browser problem) or... maybe Macbook just have another way to select files.

Many thanks for your advice.

Um, did you actually *move* the images from your Windows 'Pictures' folder over to the Mac? I dont see you saying you did. Obviously the images are not going to magically transfer from the Win box to the Mac. Are you 'sharing' the Win drive?

Thanks. I used photo apps in Macbook to import photos from USB-C adapter--Card Reader-- SD Card. I can view the photos in the photo apps in Macbook.
Just that, when I try to attach the "Mickey.jpg" from the Safari browser, when running Yahoo mail... I am unable to see the micky.jpg for me to click and select.

On Windows, that works because you are navigating to where the files are located. But, on the Mac, if you imported the photos in the Photos app, it stores them inside the Photos library, and you cannot get to them using the dialog from Safari.

You could, from within the Photos app, export the image to a location of your choosing (File -> Export), then attach it as you were trying before.

Or, set up the Mail program to connect to Yahoo Mail. Then, starting from Photos, use the Share icon to send one or more images to a new Mail message, or drag the image from the Photos app window to a Mail message.

Bottom line - Windows and OS X work differently in some ways, and you will have to change the way you do some tasks.

You still can, they are accessible in the same window via the so-called media browser. You can access image files in a normal folder just like you can in Windows:

However, images 'stored' in Photos, while not visible in the Finder, can be accessed by any File Open dialogue via the media browser at the bottom of the side bar. This gives you access to all the internal organisation structure inside Photos (ie, Moments, Albums, Years, etc.):

Many thanks.

That's exactly what I want.
I really wonder why the photos cannot be selected in the photo app in the top, but only possible via the media options lower down.
I also failed, because, in windows, if I click on the words (e.g. "Album"), the file directory would expand. But in Macbook, I need to click on the right arrow only. If I click on the word Album, nothing happens.

Thanks again.

It's because if you choose Photos (and iPhoto and Aperture as well) to "manage" your images then they are not files inside a folder. In essence, they are files inside another file. The Finder is a folder browser application and managed files are not in a folder, per se, so the Finder doesn't see them. The Media browser works around that issue.

Thanks
