Show Your Snaps...July 13, 2015

Wow...that's great. That is a nice looking photo at any size. Have you thought about making a large print from it?

Nice catch, I am waiting here hoping to catch lightning when it comes but usually with us he throws it down so I might need a brolly.

Nice, I am ex-RAF and have yet to visit an Air Show since taking up photography, getting shots from your back yard is even better.

That's great...nice to see that. Yes, I'll probably be getting some photos of the air show this weekend also.
Are you not going hunting for all those Sex toys hanging in the cables around Portland Oregon?

That's an interesting one taken through a wet windscreen. I've done that before when after we've had so much rain in Oregon and I couldn't make it outside without getting soaking wet, that I had to take a picture of something. It might as well be rain on a window. :) When taking photos of sunrises or sunsets, it's nice to include silhouettes of other things. I like your arrangement with the tree.

We normally view photos from Canon Rebels, but if someone shows images from another non-Canon camera, nobody seems to mind. At least so far in over three years, no-one has made an issue out of it.
Thanks. That's good.

I've never seen anything like that in Portland, Oregon. But all it takes is one person to do that and it becomes a newsworthy item.

The air show is about 15 miles west of Portland, Oregon. It's in an area surrounding by businesses, residential homes, farms and wide open spaces.

There's no tall city buildings or power lines here. This photo was taken at last year's air show.

That's an interesting flower. I've never seen one like that. What kind is it? The dog does look sleepy and/or hot. You stalked the woodpecker carefully where finally you got close and captured a nice one. I've gotten a photo like that this year, but I only took one as I didn't have the patience to wait for the bird to move around in better lighting. In the last photo I see the ducks looking at you. When I'm taking photos of these ducks in wild areas, they seem more afraid of the Tamron 150-600mm lens. I've wondered if the lens is so large that we might seem to them to be hunters with rifles.

Here's a few pictures of our local air show. I hope to get more pictures this weekend. I didn't always have the best favorable lighting as these were taken from outside the airport. But hey, I got some photos of them. :)

The flow is echinops ritro something my wife grows all over our garden and a great spot to shoot bees and insects.

The woodpecker actually stayed there a while until I tried getting even closer. As for our dog I think he was too hot he threw up later to. The other 2 dogs both Jack Russel's handle warmth better. Usually they stay inside when its to hot but every so often they want to go out.

With the ducks yes I think most things see the huge tammy and think its a gun.

Still nice to see, being ex-RAF i just love aircraft and the smell of them lol. Here in NL there are very few airshows in fact in the 30+ years I have lived here I have not seen any.

Those are very nice. I like the dramatic array of colors we can find at sunset or sunrise.

The photos make me feel like I'm there walking along the shore. The water I would imagine is relatively warm and the air temperatures must feel nice with the cloudy skies with threatening rain.

Yes i have to agree evening around sunset is beautiful, this week is the first time I have actually been out with the camera at this time

You're very fortunate to get such a good access point without traveling. Nice pic - but I would do whatever it takes to get the shutter speed up to 1/1600 or more.

Love the Blue Angel shots. BTW, did they have an F-22 that did a fly around with an old P51 at that airshow?

(Like this pair - just wondering if they acompany the Blue Angels?)

I did see a P-51 and it might have been flying with a jet. I'm not sure if I photographed it. I just got back from the air show. I'm going through my photos now. I'll take a look and see.
