*** This Week Through YOUR m4/3 2015.07.11 ***

There is a group of bird shooters who shoot at the river walk near my house. They're all using full-frame Nikons and Canons with monster telephotos that cost $12,000 and up. One guy likes to brag about his $18,000 800mm Nikkor. I wonder what they would think if I showed up with this lens and teleconverter plus my GM5 hanging off the back end?

Beautiful Landscape, thanks for sharing.

I find the sky in the first a bit artificial - maybe the look you were aiming for. I like the more subtle colours in the foreground, but seems to lack sharpness there.

#2 seems the best of the bunch and very satisfying.

#3 has unexploited potential, but as it stands doesn't work for me. The two rocks have an interesting contrast of shape and texture that could be exploited more, but with their arrangement of just touching it fails for me. I would prefer them to be either separated or overlapping, so you have a good excuse to go back and try again :-D I like the white bushes, but they could be placed better (take a shovel when you go back ;-) ). Too much fuss in the foreground.

#4 :-)

#5 Interesting record shot. I'd like to see some more, closer up.

I like all of these, each one more than the previous one. Live Comp takes a little practise - which I haven't yet done! Maybe your base exposure was too long?

Great first post! Challenging light typical of the Lakes, well caught. I was up there myself a month ago for a few of days - first time other than a couple of afternoons in passing. I was very impressed with the landscapes and photographic opportunities - and there are nearly always 'interesting' skies ;-)

Another thread is now open for new photographs; continue to post replies and comments on existing pics here.

I like the first and the third. Good composition on the third although I think you should eliminate the partial leaves int he near foreground on the boardwalk. I love the water beads on the last.

I like the first one. You made a nice photo out of not the best light situation.

Did she catch anything? :-)

Great sunburst on the first. Nice reflection on the 6th. I like that last. Very pretty.

#1 and #5 are great. I loved 1 then I saw 5 and it was better.

I also like the third but wish it had more DOF.

This is a nitpik but I do this to my own photos. I'd eliminate this little part of the bark...

Very nice work indeed, lahsrah. Particularly good catching the star rotating instead of stopped for repairs. :)

And as for getting out on a winter's night in Melbourne to take photos -- I cannot convey to you the depths of my admiration! You are either a stoic of the ilk of Scott of the Antarctic or some biological freak with treble body warming built in. (I am speaking from my tropical retreat from Melbourne's antarctic blast.)

Either way, great result! Thanks for taking and showing!

Say what? I have just read your reply to Michael. It wasn't rotating. Well, that's a relief. So everything is normal, then? LOL.
