Hi folks,

FYI: I see that BHPhotovideo.com has dropped the price of the Pentax K-3 II down to US $980.

Cheers.

Ron

Hello Ron, great price for this camera. I just bought a K3 myself after looking over the entire market for a few weeks. $980 is very low for such a new and great camera, I looked at it for a good while when it was just over a thousand but in the end the K3 for $700 was what I went with, which allowed me to get a better lens to start off with.

With all the other bodies I looked at the prices on the K3II seem far better than the rest. I also looked at the D7100 which is only slightly cheaper at $900 but is not as up to date as the k3II, and Canon seems to be far behind with the 70D offering. Maybe it's me but Pentax seems to offer more camera than anybody for the cost.

I did google search and run into another site selling it cheaper at $892.88. I've ordered from that one. Hopefully I'm not getting the bad one. Wish me luck!

I've always heard Nikon and Canon require set prices for a year or two of their authorized dealers. So is Pentax different with the set price or time period?

Maybe the manufacture drop the price to attract more buyers. They even include the FLU card as bonus item.

Amazon is running at $8 more, and Adorama still $100 more than BH. So it will be interesting to see how widespread the drop will become.

It's supply and demand game. For now, demand win (people either buying Pentax K3 for cheaper price and hope for the same AF performance as in Pentax K3 II or wait for the Pentax full frame announcement) so you see the drop in camera's price to initiate the sale of new camera.

Later, when we do not see full frame camera announce soon for Pentax and people start to report better resolution with pixel shift picture for Pentax K3 II, the sellers start to bring up the price till the next model out in the horizon.

My order has shipped today. Hopefully I can get a hand on test by next week. I never order from gadgetcircuit.com before but hopefully I get the same quality like other web retailers.

I received my camera last Thursday from gadgetcircuit.com and everything is running great. No firmware bug or GPS bug that people has seen. They sell it for cheaper than B&H or Adorama because the FluCard is not included. However, at the time I ordered, their listing included the FluCard so they will ship the FluCard to me for free. So if you don't need the FluCard, you can order from them for $88 drop from B&H or Adorama.
