a7r ii: Who is preordering tomorrow?

Im going with B&H and they definitely charge me state taxes in NY! :(:(
 
Preorder at B&H placed! Told it would ship by July 28th.
 
July 28 shipping date.
 
I've just placed my order with B&H. Ordered two lenses too.
 
My order is in.
 
Done - B&H says shipments to start July 28.
 
B&H order is in ... i normally would have ordered from Amazon but tax is too significant to ignore.

Well, that's Amazon . . . who get cameras from some other vendor. B&H Photo says July 28 and they are usually extremely accurate. Let's hope you get it sooner from Amazon, but maybe not. Depends on who they get their cameras from.

I'm prepared for it to be a longer wait. B&H's page includes the caveat, "Subject to Availability", for their July 28 shipping date.
 
July 28th is less than 6 weeks, I've waited months for many cameras even when I order them on the first available day including NEX-7, Fuji X-100 and Sony A7R.

Yep, they have to charge NY state taxes because that's where both you and they are, bummer.
 
so why would there be such a large difference in shipping date

thing is i go to burning man on aug 20th

and amazon says i'll get it aug 30

but i'm seeing B&H says july 28 which is perfect for me

should i cancel my amazon order?

i dont get why there would be a whole month difference

Even if you do order from B&H, I think it would be best to have a back up plan (some other camera) in case shipping is delayed.
