a7r ii: Who is preordering tomorrow?

I'd love to but I think it would open a can of worms:

1. Next, I'd need a faster computer.
Than 5 gHz? 3 works great!
2. Then super big memory cards
Than 128 gig? 64 work great!
3. A bigger, higher resolution monitor.
Than 60"? Love my 27"!
4. A higher dpi printer that can print 40" X 60" prints.
How about 44" wide. Been out for many years. Love my Epson 3880.
5. A lust for the highest dollar Zeiss lenses made.
Lust can be very expensive. That's why I never, ever, drink $500 a bottle wine. Slip over to Sony and Nikon.
$3200 is just a starting point. 'Believe I'll pass unless I win the lottery!
Maybe sell a kidney? Get a 2nd job? Hock the family jewelry? Marry rich?

Life's a *****.

I ordered a week ago.

I'm going to wait for initial reviews and the dust to settle before deciding, probably get a A7II and mod that and leave the potential for the A7RII for color only.

see if it goes on black friday sale - I have two windows to really purchase it, around oct 1st or end of november. seems like end of november makes the most sense to me.

I am ordering one. I have been really itching to get a Sony to play with and see how I like it. This is the first one they have come out with that (at least on paper) looks like I can live with. Before this there was always something I just couldn't quite accept that kept me from actually purchasing. It is a gamble still. But If there is something that I don't like and feel strongly about it I'll send it back.

Actually I was about to rent an A7ii and see how I liked it. I just get bummed every time I look at the glass. I prefer faster zooms and fixed apertures. I want a 16-35 2.8, 24-70 2.8 and 70-200 2.8 and a fast prime around 85 or 100. The 90mm they came out with will work there. Those F 2.8 zooms I want are offered in full frame A glass.....if they really work fine with this camera and the adapter and there is no trade off I don't know about then I will be a happy camper. Otherwise I'll get a lens or two to play with for now or live with the F.4 zooms and see how it goes. That lens adapter is not a lightweight item either I am sorry to see.

I'll keep my Nikons for work and just see how I get up to speed with the Sony. I suspect I will actually read the whole manual that comes with this camera which will be a first.:))) My D810 I occasionally looked something up........ with my Iphone 6 I just ask my buddies 14 year old if there is something I can't figure out. :)))) LOL

Where?

I want to re-order but i think the more important question is...

whats the best website to pre-order from as to increase the odds is receiving it promptly?

can anyone recommend websites?

sony site?

amazon.com?

personally i was gonan try amazon.com but in the past there was always delays, took 3 months to get my a7r and 5 months for my nikon d800

i hear they will ship and go retail in august. can anyone confirm actual sale day or when they ship?

Just bought into the A7II and will probably buy the A7RII but will wait for the reports and confirmation of lossless raw compression.

May also get the Batis(es) first anyway.

Right now Sony is really rocking; also witness the A6000 update as well.

I do have an adapter to use my Nikon lenses. However, I've found I don't care for manual focus. I'm simply not good at it! I end up with a lot of misses. I have no doubt the Nikon glass would be excellent on the Sony's, I just stink at manual focusing.

I have a relationship with a well known camera store. They put in my order on the 11th.

there are some good comparison tests and focus performance tests on youtube. I am having second thought now. I may postpone a while. Some interesting issues are showing up in comparison to the Nikon D810 and new canon. Interesting things being showed and discussed.

Do you hav a link to the reviews you mention? I am thinking of pre-ordering tomorrow, but it doesn't seem to be organized well in Canada.

I'm going to wait. I'm perfectly happy with the A7, so I see no reason to rush. If the reviews and user comments are positive, then I may order and, if the camera is back ordered for a while, that would not be a biggie for me.

I'm all over it ... pre-ordering it the moment it hits Amazon.

My mind was made up when Sony stated they're actually looking at enabling lossless RAW ...

Not me. I already have a Nikon D750, Sony A6000 & A7. If I can't take good pictures with those, the A7RII is not going to help me.
True, but IBIS helps. ;)

It's funny that not a single poster here has said or discussed exactly WHEN the a7R II will actually be shipped to them??
