Only kidding ;-) Wow what a lot of negativity. In my humble opinion, if you want a point and shoot camera buy a point and shoot camera and not a Prosumer digicam.

Canceling G5 order and going for a pin hole camera instead

It's sad when a new camera like the G5 get some persons negative thoughts and others who don't understand the camera Start flaming it. As many are finding out the G5 is a great camera that works well within it's design frame.
LOL!!! Getting a pinhole camera. Well I wouldn't get a Quaker Oats one because they have a terrible shutter lag & their oatmeal is too lumpy. =)
When I started searching out info on digitals a couple of years ago the G1 owners were saying how bad the G2's were. Then the G2 owners were saying how bad the G3's were. Now the G3 owners are saying.......=)
I see a pattern here. If we just wait until the G6 comes out the G5 will become the better camera. For what it's worth I think they are ALL great cameras.

Well, the reason why a lot of these people are complaining about the G5 is that mainly, Canon seems to be milking the consumer by releasing a new camera that doesn't do much in the upgrade department over the old camera. That's pretty credible in my book.

But who says everyone with a G3 has to upgrade? The G5 may have been created to compete with the 5 MP cameras not to upgrade from the G3. I mean who says every new camera has to be all that over the last. Perhaps Canon is really focusing all of their efforts on the G6 but wanted to compete with the 5MP cameras in the time being?

That is just it. Canon does need a G series 5 mega pixel camera to compete in this area. And that is what they appear to be doing.
