Looks that there is no bright future for the A-mount/Minolta mount. I think they are more or less skipping this platform.

On the other hand, the future of the E-mount sounds very promising!
It does make sense to focus on one mount, being that E and FE.

I just hope that Sony pull a rabbit out of the hat and make a DSLR like body with support for both Alpha and E-mount without the need of an adapter.

I have noticed that A or E mount was not mentioned. What was mentioned is α mount???

In here they do mention Alpha ILCs.

But on same presentation that "translates" into FE-mount.

Could they be more vague? ;)

I the full presentation FE Mount is clearly mentioned and "Alpha lens system" growth equals FE lens system growth numbers

This document suggests they are about to release at least 8 new FE lenses till early 2016. This would mean 8 new lenses in less than a year. The only thing we know from their roadmap is that one of those will be "large aperture prime".

This, plus the fact they see compactness as one of 3 competitive advantages of FE e-mount system brings me hope for some small FE lenses like 35F28 or 28F20 :)

To be clear, the "mount" is E. Some lenses are E lenses (APS-C) and some lenses are FE (full frame). But they both use the E-mount system.

True. In this context though the emphasis os Sony seems to be quite strongly in Full Frame E Mount :)

...And like it or not, it does make sense, IMO. :)

I just hope we see more lenses soon - The actual offer is still very limited!

All the best,
Pedro

Well, if someone wants to send mirror to history, sure Sony will be first. I don‚t expect Canon/Nikon to rush about it.

May I ask which lenses would you like to see on APS-C?
To my usage, landscape, travel, street, I have everything I need and more. To be fair I am trying to concentrate on FE more since it works perfectly on my a6000. Reduce the... redundancies.

redundancies?
In my lens lineup.

Personally I would like to see a 24mm that didn't come with a zeiss badge mark up. Similar to the 50mm and 35mm.

A non PZ version of the 18-105 (unlikely) or just a better zoom in general. Sony kit/travel zooms are a persistent weak point in both line ups.

Longer zooms wouldn't hurt but are probably better served going FE.

The system as a whole is looking pretty good right now especially if you like "pro" quality lenses.

Looks like no more cropped E-mount lenses for the next 12 month.

number of FE lenses will increase from 12 to 20. Time to dump your NEX cameras. LOL

I really hope it won't come to this...
