Meikon underwater housing for Sony a7 / a7R

Meikon just posted on their Facebookpage that they will work on housings with ports, starting with the A6000.

In this video they state that the footage provided was taken utilizing the 24-70mm using an Sony a7s.

Thanks

Bought a total of three housings for A6k, and 3 housings for RX100, generation one to III receptively. All work well. I also preorder an aluminum housing and luckily met the engineer and boss of Meikon.

Did he by any chance give you an update into their investigation of the A6000 housing with ports?

Obviously no.

It looks better to ask those sales agent. I will try next time. Those aluminum housings for DCs are ready to ship. I prefer going to their office to take my ordered stuff and will take this chance to ask questions.

Actually on my previous trip I noticed everyone is using a GoPro these days. I was really impressed by the quality, at least of video. It got me thinking, what makes the GoPro image quality so good? One reason has to be that because you can mount it to a telescope pole, you can easily take it closer to the subject.

Hi guys,

I know this is an old thread, but I´ll try my luck. Could anyone please provide a link to a site where the A7 housing with strobe connection can be bought?

I tried to find the housing, but all I can find are housings for the A7 that do not seem to have any possibility to connect a strobe... Or maybe I just don´t recognize the sync cable connection? Is it covered by a screwtop that I mistake for a wheel?

Thanks :)

Hello Laga, the Meikon housing with strobe connector is still being tested according to their Facebook.

Hi Mkfb8,

thanks for your answer! I came across the Facebook side during my search, but assumed the housing was only for the mk ii versions of the a7 range?

I may very well be wrong with that assumption, though. Do you know anything more about wether this housing will also fit for the original A7? I guess I might have to take it up with one of Meikon´s agents, but got some cryptic answers before...

On the housing they have the writing "a7II" in the post they write something about the a7/a7s/A7rII. So you are probably correct and I just didn't read it correctly before.

I searched but didnt find information about mark II. Does it work with sony a7RII + 28-70? I mean, all controls could be reach?

I have their housing for the a6000 and it's held up like a champ. They are working on an a7II/a7rII housing with a hot shoe. Should be out in a few months.

Has anyone tried the FE 28mm or nex 10-18mm in this housing yet? If yes what kind of results did you get?

Thanks

Both lenses are smaller in length than the 28-70 so I presume strong vigneting will be noticed.

Does anyone have more information on where to buy the Meikon A7 housing with the possibility to trigger a strobe? I still couldn't find anything except for information on the ongoing development/testing of a housing for the MKII versions of the A7 range.

I would very much appreciate any information or a link that points me into the right direction.

Several people here wrote about the A7 housing and that even the "old type" housings could be exchanged, so I guess the housing is not in development together with the MKII housing, but that it already was ready to be shipped a while ago. Does anyone have some feedback on how strobes are triggered with the "new" A7 housing (is there enough room for a dry flash attached to the camera that can be used to trigger slave strobes via fiberoptic cables or is there a Nikonos or other type cable connection to the strobes)?

Thanks :)
