Do Hasselblad rebadge the lens too?

I doubt it. The margins are too small.:-)

Whoever was fired from Hassleblad for that marketing debacle should probably change career path entirely. They probably should stay away from firefighting as a career, as well. Maybe "Professional Customer Greeter" would be suitable.

It's getting tempting to get one, isn't it? Love the box you get with it, and some of the metal cap accessories and such would be nice. It's almost worth it now - just shave another $1200 off the price, and I could probably get past the ugliness and find it worth grabbing one.

Apparently they've re-emerged as 4V Designs, if you're still hankering for some Italian-designed accessories for your camera or iPhone.

They should name this "The Michael Jackson."

Both underwent unnecessary plastic surgery and didn't know when to stop - and ended up WAY worse then when they started.

I have it from my 500C that the family believes this was the result of a lost weekend Viktor spent with a Ford Edsel...

That's right - Hasselblad makes a small pancake silver 16mm F2.8 lens - and sells it at a steal for $2,500.

Such a deal!

Do Hasselblad rebadge the lens too?
Yes and right now they are selling for great prices on B+H

You can pick up the 16-70 for $699 and the 16 F2.8 for $150 both $100+ cheaper than the current going rate.

Yes, I saw it! Too bad I'm not in the right geography or in need of any of these lenses.

Just bought one from BH for $149. That's $99 less than the Sony version.

I had the Sony version before, sold it - now the Hassy version seems to be sharper in the corners. Maybe Hasselblad handpicks the best? Who knows... but I am having fun with this lens on FULL FRAME A7ii with some crazy vignetting :)

Better yet I can save $6,995.00 by staying with my A6000!

Wondering, how is it in crop mode?

Here are two examples, full size. I would say in crop mode it really looks good, some corner softness as expected, nut not the "total mush" some of the Sony branded 16mm lenses produce.

I really believe there is more to this lens than just the Hasselblad logo. Probably the picked the better ones from each production run. I don't know.

By chance, does it say, "made in Japan" on the lens mount? Perhaps better glass as was the case with the 18-55's from early NEX-7's.
