Today, for the first time in shooting in Shutter mode and Aperture mode after I took the picture I saw "Processing" in the view finder and there was some lag time before I take another picture. This seemed strange since it has never indicated that in any mode after nearly 6 months of use.

Any ideas for this?

you must have some setting that takes more tjan one frame? HDR? DRO? MFNR? etc.

Yes, that makes sense. Where would that be on the menu? For Focus Mode I have set for single-shot AF (which is at the top number 3 in the camera area).

All of my RX100's and RX10 sometimes spontaneously decide to change their settings without asking me! After I've discovered that it happens, I reset it to initial settings, and change to the parameters I want.

best thing to do is reinitalize which sets cam to original default settings.

Thanks. Thinking about this, I went back to the ISO and it somehow had changed (who could have done that?) to ISO Multi-Frame. I put it back on Auto and the problem was solved.

Indeed. Thanks. I re-examined the ISO settings, remembering something about how it can take multiple pictures to get a favorable result . . . hence, the Processing appearing, so changed it back to Auto, rather than the one above it, believe it's Active.

Initialize is good, however, it is nice to know what it is, and avoid it in the future. I had the same problem the other day.

I believe it is your ISO setting. the 'wrong' ISO Auto,

menu, camera, page 3, 5th line, ISO, press center button

the top choice says ISO Auto, but it is 'Multi Frame Noise Reduction' that is what takes a long time processing

the second line down, 'Auto' is what we want, true auto iso for single shot, no special processing.

You will also see that "Processing" message when you take a long exposure and have Long Exposure Noise reduction enabled.

Hmm... it's been a long time since I've tried it, but I'm guessing that you'll also see this message when using in-camera HDR.

I meant to clarify, my camera changed by the ISO setting by itself also.

I only use my front control ring for manual focus.

I am talking about the control ring on the back; the one that clicks !
I had a lot of inadvertent turns on the front ring of my rx100m1, which is why I disable it except manual focus. I have never had an inadvertent spin of the rear control ring, but, I can see how someone could.

Are you saying you are having a hard time getting the feel of it, or are you saying, not inadvertent, but erratic. If so, that's a shame, are you still under warranty?
