Alessandra,

it is a coincidence that we're both in Italy and we took a photo of the moon in the same hour and at maximum zoom.

This is useful to compare your p900 with my p600.

Obviously the p900 has more detailed but the p600 defends well.

Nice. The last shot is like flying over it in a spacecraft.

So true, Mario! I too have felt so excited yesterday, seeing those pictures.. they seem taken from the Apollo 11 during its flight toward the moon in 1969. Nikon has done an incredible, amazing work designing P900.. imagine what if they have equipped it with a *proper sensor*, and not the coriander-sized one they put inside this monster.

Wow Sergio, what a coincidence ahahah. Nice to meet you, italian pal :D Aside different zoom, your picture looks NICE! sharp and definitely better than any i took in the past with my P510 (great camera also!)

Thank you very much for your appreciation, Aodi. I did only some light retouch on two shots, crop + color adjustment + unsharp mask (only to compensate the blurry effect due to digital zoom and atmospheric distortion)

Nice but can you smell the cheese?

Imagine how huge the camera would be, if any larger sensor was put inside !!

Its already a large camera, and only because of the small 1/2.3 sensor that such a huge zoom range could of been made. Increase sensor size, and one must increase the size of the lens.

I'd rather they somehow improve the sensor ...then the camera size doesn't get bigger, but the I.Q. Improves.

Stiil, these are some impressive moon shots, regardless of sensor, camera, etc.

Love the last shot, like it was taken from space !

excellent results, Alessandra R !
