Many of you saw and contributed to my recent post about how amazed I was with the image quality out of the OMD EM1 with the 45mm 1.8 lens.

This shot is another testimony to that fact for me. Not because it is some earth-shattering portrait, but because it really showcases the DSLR-like quality that comes out of this gem of a camera.

Taken at f2 ISO400 1/100th

Natural window light, no modifiers

For this type of portrait the lens is excellent. Good compromise between getting the subject in focus and the background out of focus.

Sorry man but DSLR is not the "golden standard" of IQ anymore, those days are gone a while ago. Now its just not that simple.

But yes the 45 mm is great.

I had this lens , sold it for I bought the 75mm

Now that I saw your photo and prices have plummeted, I may re-acquire it
