I am looking for a companion travel camera for my Sony a77. I love my Sony but there are times it is just too heavy. I was thinking of the a6000 but then I started reading revies of the nx300. At under 600 dollars with a lens it seems like a very good deal. I like the swivel screen, similar to my Sony and it seems to have nice specs. Has anyone done any real comparison to the Sony a6000? If so I'd like to hear your thoughts.

I'm working on a comparison between the a6000 and NX500, if that's relevant to you...

I think it will come down to

NX300 - You can read all the good things about NX300 here. For example amazingly responsive and intuitive touch screen which also has very fast Live View.

Only negatives will be no EVF and buffer is slow, You might get 5 RAWs files at one burst and takes a few seconds to re load. Everything else I am 100% satisfied with results

The kit lens 18-55mm OIS III which comes with NX300 is actually very good. Especially at less than half price of A6000.

In saying that according to Amazon, A6000's selling rate is just unbelievable compared to any NX cameras.

600 usd is a terrible price for nx300, for just 100 more you get nx500, a much better camera in every way with a better and more compact lens to boot. Around here it's ~400 and that's OK, but for 600, not really. You're better off with nx3000 + 16-50 pz for 300 usd.

The NX300 is Very versatile and fast. One overlooked aspect is the very high quality video providing 1080P at 60 frames a second and internal stereo microphones that I have often used just for recording live music performances with very good results.

the NX300 has sold well and there are some available used with the 18 to 55 lens for about the $300 price. A great value.

I had a Sony , returned it and bought the Samsung
