Hi Rodger...

A ruffed grouse scurrying through some brush gave me my first attempt this morning. I have to determine how to set my camera up better. And how to use Lightroom better. I am surprised how easy it is ... so far!

First Frame grab. Unprocessed (obviously!)

Thanks for the motivation Rodger!

Next: Read manual so I know how to set FZ1000 up how to do this properly!

A couple of days ago, I made the mistake of taking the LX7, just in case. Due to the 90mm maximum focal length I missed a few opportunities. So, today, I took the TZ60, never 'caught' a Wren before but quite a few Robins. The Wren is tiny, about 8cm in length, shot through chain-link fencing - that 720mm comes in very handy at times :-)

A singe shot,

Hi Tom,

That 4k frame grab looks very good. The detail is excellent. You could probably brighten it up a bit, that's all.

When using 4k video I usually use M mode, as I do for nearly all my shots, that way you can control the aperture and shutter speed, plus you see exactly what you'll get in the viewfinder before you half press the shutter. If you change the shutter speed the viewfinder image will darken or lighten depending on which way you go, same with aperture. I really like to see what I'm getting before the shot is taken.

I love the smaller birds and your shots show them off exceptionally well.

Superb water bird images. The colours and details are excellent.

AG - Wonderful waterfowl pics. This one is my fav, they seem very pleased.

Please Mr. Ichiro Kitao, give me a Wildlife Zoom camera (WZ) with a 200 - 2000mm reach and able to take a TC, and with a fast lens and all the goodies to make it fast operationally. And with a big, beautiful EVF. Come on, let's exploit the strengths of a small sensor.

Rodger, they came out very well indeed. You made me think, being able to extract 8MP images like these is probably the one feature that might persuade me to buy the FZ1000.

Wonderful, magnificent creature Eric, you lucky chap finding and capturing it in your own backyard.

Good set Vickie, Love the detail in the rabbit's fur - great timing for the post :-)

What a little beauty Peter, wonderful complementary colour in the scene.

Good set Colin, and a friendly bird or two. The Golden Eagle must feature on many a photographer's Bucketlist.

Well, when you've got it, flaunt it :-)

Good set Tom, well caught. Heard a woodpecker, quite loudly, yesterday morning but couldn't spot it before it went quiet/flew off :-(

That's a cutie qt. Would benefit from, say, -0.66EV on exposure.

Thanks Rodger,

I have no idea of what I am doing in video mode. Will try M(anual) mode. Have to read the manual and play with the machinery for a while. I now think that it will be worth the time investment.

Thanks a lot for your encouragement.

Here is a Stork jpeg pic with basic pp.

Autofocus set on continuous, release priority.

IQ isnt that good but it was nice to get it.
