Snapped off a few hand held early morning pics from our balcony. Actually the sky was indeed very red and I didn't enhance it in a quick Picasa pass through. In camera set to -1/3 EV and single shot IS and fixed ISO 100.

Still pleased with the SX40hs but when the 60 price drops near $100. this old dog will be retired. The camera that is! ;-)

Very nice colors/scenes you have there, thanks for sharing :)

Lovely morning pictures. I like how you position the sun on top of the mountain in the 2nd shot.

Thanks guys. Just noticed that the cam was set at -2/3 EV from a previous shot.

Two very beautiful images, Don. And I also would love having breakfast (or lunch or dinner for that matter) on your patio.

Wonderful serendipity that the EV was already well set for these images. For all other times, that is why I predominately use my C1 or C2 modes. When the camera turns on, you always start with your own default settings for these modes. Great when you have to act fast, or are overcome by the beauty of Nature.

Thanks VL. Yes, we are fortunate to have an exceptional full front ocean view. The C 1/ 2 suggestion is a good one but I now have both set for other rarely used settings. Maybe one will make way.

Beautiful indeed!

Very nice indeed! When you retire your old dog, you may be hard pressed to treat your new pup such good tricks! Good shots.
