Can anyone help me. Bought Gary's book, B&W hardcopy, and I am trying to print the 'Tip Cards' out (I need all the help I can). I cannot decipher the link, it looks like http://bit.ly/1tYcOCl but that must be wrong as it doesn't work. Had the magnifying glass out, all to no avail. It is in Appendix C, last line. Help appreciated as am off on trip in the morning. Rgds Gordon

Tapped on the link with my iPad. It's a zip file that is downloaded. You need to unpack it before you can print.

I don't have the hard-copy version, but there's this in the PDF:

"There are a LOT of demonstrative illustrations in this book that kind of lose their effectiveness when converted to black-and-white. And some are difficult to see on e-book reader screens like the original Kindle.
And so to offset these problems I’m offering a free, full-color, instantly-downloadable .pdf file of this ebook to all customers who bought printed books, or who purchased this work through the Amazon Kindle store or any other e-reader store. (The original .pdf file really does offer a superior user experience. Think of it as the “director’s cut” regarding how the author intended the work to be seen.)
To get your free .pdf file, just email me ([email protected]) with a copy of your receipt and I’ll send you a download link. Such a deal!"

Sent you a PM on this.

Nothing came through yet....

just sent it, thanks again Mark

Thanks folks, one 'happy snapper' here. Brilliant book by Gary, had A100/A700/A77 in the past and invaluable asset, Sony's 12 language apology for a manual is a joke as is the on-line stuff from them. Gary saves the day YET AGAIN.

Thanks again the help with the link

Regards

Gordon

I guess that 'snot' is one thing the cleaning product makers fail to plan for ;-( I love the A77ii compared to the A77, especially the EVF brightness which I thought awful on the A77. Now it's down to me, no excuses. I am now a master at taking high res bad images so I now have a challenge ahead, again thanks for your help and good luck regarding the future purchase and if it's an A99ii keep it away from sneezing kids.

thanks Rich, have saved link, clearly a lot to learn, and retain which of course is the difficult but ;-)

<snip> a kid sneezed right beside me. :-( Have spots showing up around f16..... Doubt I can clean the mirror.... When I peer inside with a light, it looks like water spots on the mirror....
Take a look at a LensPen. It might be easier than you think to get those spots out.

Best of luck!

Thanks,

I'll check it out. If it was the sensor I'd be more confident, but the mirror, from what I understand is very delicate.

I don't think it wise to use the lens pen on the sensitive mirror. Sensor maybe, but mirror should be cleaned with something else.

Get a new mirror. They're easily fitted.

Your idea of writing the profiles to memory card is a good one - I may have read that Nikon allow this on some cameras too. However, I think the mode dial would be even more difficult to read if there were more memory modes .... I may want to switch faster than via two/three menu choices.
