(P.5) She eats at the lowest point on earth

Hi Yehuda,
Her eyes are intriquing , and she has a very wellcoming smile which
once again you managed to capture perfectly as if you know here
like a best friend.
I admire your style so much and eagerly await my foot to heal
properly and ai will go out & do my best to copy you for a while.
jules,

Most important: Let you ankle completely heel before you take serious walks. Your models will wait for you, I'm sure. Then, I hope you can take even better pictures than I do.
This seems to me like it was a wondeful trip and you certainly seem
to make the most of life,
I caught a deal, of reasonable price and on an "all included" schedule. My daughter comes from the States here next month, and we are going to re-visit the Dead Sea area for some 3 more nights.
How maby pictures from the 717 thus far ? 4050 for me in 6 months
We are moving at about equal paces: In 3 months I took 2174 images (including 2 weddings and 2 other major events).

Again, jules, take care.

Yehuda

Agreed. It's really about tact.

How you present your opinions is just as important as the content of your opinions.

Second you mention two problems with the photos, but offer no
assistance to the photographer on how they could be improved. You
know like "you might try toning down the yellow saturation", or
"have you ever tried running the USM over your resized images?" To
state problems with no possible solutions isnt constructive
criticism. Its just criticism. I think a major point of this
forum is be constructive and offer advice.

Third, you offer an incredibly subjective opinion on the subject.
Who are you to decide who is attractive or not? What if this had
been his daughter, or another member on this forum? How would YOU
feel if someone posted a picture of you, and someone else said
"DAMN he's ugly!" You might say you wouldnt care at all, but I
dont believe you.

I totally agree with being honest and straightforward in our posts,
thats the only way we can help other improve. However, there is
certainly room for common courtesy. This was a really
disappointing thread man...

Ok, my rant is over. Thanks.

Eric
Yehuda, I know you are a guru on this forum, but i don't like most
of your portraits. Both of the images you posted here have too much
yellow, and both of them seem blurry and not sharp at all. The girl
is unattractive.

I like the the stories, though. :)

Men, if these girls are unattractive, I think your standard is TOO high. I can only get a few that he posted. Some on STF would marry them right away just by looking at these pics :-)

I also think Yahuda was serious. He took it in great stide, and enjoyed the critisism and honesty from what I can gather. Yahuda is a wonderful man to take comments like that in a posative way.I say good going to the both of you..........................By the way, I have always enjoyed all of Yahuda's pictures, especially the more recent ones that include a little story about Isreal. Although not all of his pictures are perfect, and not all his subjects are model material, I must say that he has done a far better job at it than most could do if they gave it their best effort....Keep em comming Yahuda...I love em

Oleg,

I love that direct approach of you. Way to go.

Hi friends,
The Dead Sea again. Its waters are so saturated with minerals, that
every solid object in the water gets soon covered with heavy layers
of salt. In fact, when you enter the sea for a swim - very
recommended health-wise ( The water has an oily feeling, bitter in
taste, and it's highly recommended to prevent water entering the
eyes ) - and come out from the water, a nice layer of salt
builds-up on your body. Every movement of arm or leg sounds a
cracking sound. Brrrrrrrrrrrr... So people are heading directly to
the nearest shower.

In this photo we see a rock in the water, with heavy sediments of
salt accumulating around it. From time to time workers break and
take to the refineries the solid salt plates.

==============================================

What I find so fascinating is to watch people from all types and
races, who live in my country - Israel. This young lady is
Caucasian by birth, with her face carrying traces of that origin.
Add to it the fact that she was a very very kind lady, and you get
why I took this shot of her at midnight inside the dining room
(yes, they serve free all the time, even at midnight).

Enjoy clicking, Yehuda

I, very rarely, post comments into this site, only because of time limitations I have. I will say that I thoroughly enjoy Yahuda's portraits and supporting information about them. He combines artistic, candid, documentary and feeling into these photo's. For me, these are some of the qualities that move photo's beyond being just 'another pretty picture'.
Keep up the inspiring work, Yahuda!
Mike

Yehuda,
Thanks for continuing your interesting story. Makes me wish I were
there.
And the portrait is beautiful, I bet you captured your models
personality in that photo, she looks so friendly and happy.
Shalom Linda,

Your comments are really appreciated. Always. Thank you.

Yehuda

Yehuda,
I do not make many comments because many of the members here, you
included, are much more capable than I.
Even when I don't agree with what I hear or read, I personally
don't mind criticisms because it opens my eyes to other views.
Hi Jim,

I perfectly agree with you. People who don't want comments should not expose themselves to the public.
That said, I find your portraits very enjoyable. I find the
humanity that you show and describe to be fascinating.
Thank you for your kindness.
Please continue...
P.6 is already there.

Sorry for being late with this mail.

Have an excellent day, Yehuda

Lance,

If one day I will lose a photo or two, I will know whom to ask for help.

it's still your photos. I just borrow the links except the first one, which I downloaded a while back as an example of a great shot :-)

I would also like to add my 2 cents. I enjoy Yehuda's photos for their "personality" and human touch. With all the bad things that are going on in the world, and especially Israel, it is nice to see that people haven't lost sight of humanity, that we are all just people. The quality of the photos are always great, and they continue to reinforce the reason I bought the F717 in the first place. The potential to get great shots is always there with the right training. Keep the shots coming.
Steve

Yehuda,
I just read some gripes about how this young woman looks (not in
the super model class). They are right. So what!?! You have the
chutzpah (sp?) to give us a "slice of life" - a wee bit of
everything. Keep it up. Not everyone is Hollywood gorgeous.
Cliff,

None of my photos pretends to show Miss Universe candidates. All my subjects, females as males, are regular people, who share with us our daily life - in sorrow or in happiness.

[ Incidentally, I would NEVER tag publicly any person as 'unattractive'. Just a matter of education. ]
There is an old axiom about beauty being only skin deep. I can
personally attest to that - my first wife was a "looker" - she made
heads turn when she walked by. Unfortunately I couldn't live with
her personality (not so nice).
I'm sorry to hear that. I hope that you had no kids, as those suffer most in divorce cases, and carry on that experience for days to come.
Keep on clicking, and keep on posting.
Thanks, Cliff. I'm trying to do that.

Regards, Yehuda

Lance,

I'm extremely sorry if I was misunderstood. I said what I said in humor (and am still smiling).

As far as I'm concerned, you can do with "my" photos whatever you want.

Yehuda

Shalom Mike,

Thank you for that. We all live on the same globe, each on his God's little acre, and have our individual experiences. Then, when we share them, we discover how really our earth is small.

Have a peaceful day, Yehuda

your humor LOL. I find it's funny about "borrow the links" so I replied.

I actually laughed out loud when I read your first reply about where to find your photos :-). Actually, I do remembered almost all of the girls you post. But keep that to yourself and don't let my wife knows about it hehehe

Hi Yahuda,

Having read through the posts
I find myself thinking about this topic.

I must say you have certainly mastered the
enviable ability to have, it would seem, any beautiful woman
you desire...very happy to have her picture taken by you.

Having said that I think also too that maybe
your technique has been fine tuned to the degree
that you probably take very few "poor" shots.
Which in turn can lead to a creative cul de sac.

At this point, if I maybe so brazen as to assume that I know anything..
I would suggest possibly stepping back from your routine method
and examining what further creative possibilities you could explore.
I feel you may have an affinity for fashion photography
where greater range and control of lighting may open up new avenues.
Or searching out unique and challenging natural lighting circumstances
where deeper mood and emotion may play bigger roles in your work.
Maybe spending some days or weeks examining master works
in which new directions may overwhelm you with fresh inspirations.

I think you have all the potential in the world...
Go for it!
