D7200 flaw - make a bet

I'll be curious if they'll be some difficulties with the implementation of the NFC...I'm guessing there is some password protection on that, not that anyone with the same camera can just touch their phone to your camera and download the images.
Mmm.......... that's exactly what NFC is! It stands for near field communication. Basically it actives your deivce's wirless communication, either bluetooth or wifi. Usually in a mobile phone, the NFC activates the bluetooth but here, it must be the wifi.

Due to the fact that, it has absolutely no protection, therefore, the power is extrememly small, so you have to be almost be touching the devices together for them to be able to communicate.

Basically all it does is to share your device ID, the data transfer is done by bluetooth or wifi.

D7000 was rumored to have back focus issue. Also, I think the D810 had issues with oil spots on the sensor.
You're thinking D600 with the oil spots that wasn't an issue with D810.

It's going to automatically download nude pictures of Nikon's chairman off his cellphone when you activate NFC for the first time.
My D7000 had oil spots issue as well!

I was ready to switch over to Nikon and now some of you have me worried. I think I will just wait till something better comes out and just continue to use my Daguerreotype setup.

Fuji called me and said they will be sending me a brand new/free D7200 and a 1miilion candle watt flashlight.

They said all I have to do is shine the light in the viewfinder for a 20sec exposure and then post the resulting light leak. I'm thinking it's a good deal :)
Go for it!!! But do so in the shower with water cascading over the D7200 to see if it's truly a sealed body.

I'll bet on a few things, namely that various different people will:
  • Come up with an extremely imaginative way to expose a "flaw" that will never occur in real life use 99.99% of the time.
  • Nervously wring their hands about whether the "flaw" will mean anything to them.
  • Claim that on the basis of a few reports on internet forums that the entire camera is doomed.
  • Demand to start a class action
  • Abuse the try-and-return policies of some vendors by buying five bodies to get the best one

Your first point, I already pointed out that flaw in my first post in this thread, and it occurs much more than .01% of the time.

Third point, I think that one has already started before the camera was even announced!

Fourth point, can we start one before the camera is released? Can we file a class action saying the D7200 didn't meet our expectations, or file on what we expect to be it's problems?

Fifth, personally I give up after the fourth return.

Whatever problems will be short lived. Nikon has incorporated OnStar in the D7200. Report a problem and they will dispatch a technician to your GPS coordinates.
I remember the old GM's car advertisements having OnStar as its main advantage/feature. Now we know why GM needs OnStar built-in. :)

My list:
  • front focus
  • back focus
  • back and front focus AT THE SAME TIME!
--Even though I've never had a problem with over 15 Nikon bodies, I just know there will be something wrong with the d7200 at launch, I just know it. Just kidding.
I predict that the front/back focus issue will be shown to be so bad that a firmware patch will be released that implements "Focus Bracketing".

Seven shots should be enough, although focus stackers may be anxious for more.

Nikon engineering tells me they figured out how to get the front/back focus to cancel each other out thus creating the first camera with perfect focus capabilities. In fact, you won't get accurate focus at all unless you first get simultaneous front/back focus.

"NFC fries motherboard. WiFi induces mirror flapping. Whatever."

. . . and WiFi emits very high frequency signal that scares away birds for miles, especially your favorites.

"Back LCD gets loose and exposes hidden tilt/swivel characteristics."

. . . that weren't supposed to be revealed until the D7300.

"not that anyone with the same camera can just touch their phone to your camera and download the images."

. . . only empty your checking account.

"All photos will have a green caste."

. . . and there are 50 shades of green available, each one specially tuned for the level of nudity in the subject matter. You can fiddle with this in the menus.

"My D7000 had oil spots issue as well!"

The D7200 has little oil filters to catch those. They have to be changed every 3000 shots.

Sorry . . . :-|
