Taj Mahal - unusual angle! And many more travel pics as well...

Elizabeth,,

I Clicked on the Link to "Expand" the Photo and the Top line of the Title which is only shown there says "Taj Lawnmowers" , so I guess it is an Ancient Lawnmower.

It's like an old conventional push-mower, i.e. human powered. Only it's so old and rusty (or maybe cos the guys are old and rusty) that it takes 2 people, one to pull, one to push. But hey, labour is the cheapest part of this equation, certainly cheaper to employ 2 guys than buy a new mower. Anyway, I slipped these guys some money when the guards weren't looking (they would be in trouble if caught) to say 'thanks for the excellent shot'.

It was funny, so many people taking the conventional picture, noticing these guys and smiling briefly, but nobody seemed to think 'thats the picture, everybody's seen a picture of the Taj before. It's still a great place to go, wholly recommended, even now the tourists have to pay 20x more than the Indians to get in (as of last year), it still works out as about $US5 or 10.
