Welcome to the (}-: Periodic People and Portrait Thread ;-) Feb 24, 2014

The previous thread a can be found at http://www.dpreview.com/forums/post/55316730

PLEASE READ ALL OF THE FOLLOWING BEFORE POSTING

Here is the place to share your favorite people images. Snapshots or street photography, studio portraits or figure studies, people shots from any camera are welcome (though, of course, we emphasize Panasonic cameras here). The occasional pet portrait wouldn't be out of place either. Here are some points to consider before you post.
  • Please do not post images that would commonly be considered exploitative. Nudes are not prohibited but please indicate nudity in your post title.
  • Sexually explicit photo are best posted elsewhere (if you must).
  • The ethics of Street Photography is a very controversial topic with opinions running the gamut from “anything goes” to “always get signed releases.” The limits are ultimately left to the poster here but “Do unto others what you would have done unto to you” is not a bad guide to go by. (I unashamedly dangle my preposition.)
  • In most cases it's best not to name individuals in your pictures without their permission.
  • Never download and redistribute images of people posted here without the permission of the poster.
Please share any interesting stories about your post(s). If your images are taken with a non-Panasonic camera, state the camera brand in your subject line or in the body of your post. Please keep your posts to 3 - 4 images. Share your camera settings if your EXIF data is stripped. Any special equipment used and descriptions of your post processing work flow would be of interest to many of our members.

Please reply to the parent post to this thread (the post you are reading now) to share your new content. Remember to RENAME this THREAD TITLE for your contribution to something APPROPRIATE TO YOUR POST.

Any comments or suggestions on the descriptions and guidelines above should be directed to Briansdad1. I'll be happy to improve anything in the above that could use it.

Happy posting!

Thanks for your kind comments, Bruno and Stuart!

Well caught Don. I was at a Panasonic sponsored workshop yesterday. Several dSLR users were wowed by the capability of the Panasonic M4/3 AF (GX7, GH4 and GM1) capabilities. The Pro leading the day makes much use of the touch screen to trigger the shot with AF for street work. There's certainly a timing anticipation for the approaching target but quite effective.

Truly lovely portrait well executed!

I have recently completed a scripted "story-board" shoot base on the theme of the Black Swan (the story + a selection of images can be found here http://purpleport.com/portfolio-image-album.asp?id=24836

A few of my favourite shots from the different "chapters" of the story (shot using the fz1000 using 3X remote cactus RF60 controlled from a cactus V6 on the camera )
