As we are having now sunny cold days, although rather hazy, I got my P600 to shoot some cruising jets. Yesterday I got this Etihad Airways B777 and to my surprise I saw what looks like an important riveting along its left wing:

It's interesting they didn't take some time to paint it over. And still another thing: searching for its registration A6-ETO, I read it has 20 months of flight only!

Finally a shot of today, just for fun:

Thank you for looking,

Thank you for looking,

Really impressive for a so small camera. Congratulations for your purchase.

Thank you very much, KJ! Considering the haze, it's a good image; I didn't make any measurements, but looking at the angle of view, I deem the distance from the camera to the jet around 15km.

All the best,

Augustin

Very interesting Augustin. I wonder if those are rivets or some kind of markings? Either way you captured some remarkable details for such hazy conditions and long distances.

Thanks for sharing these, well done!

Thank you very much, Evan, for the appreciation and the interesting guess! Actually Etihad jets are quite frequent here and I never saw something like this on their jets or, for that matter, on any other jet. On the other hand, there are quite many incidents on airports while planes are moved from a place to another... I just don't know.

Happy shooting,

Augustin

@Augustin,. a few more years of tech improvements and you'll be getting complaints from the lady in window seat 27F that you should not have taken her picture while she was eating lunch! And DPReviewers will be arguing over whether her lunch was the chicken or the pastry.

That is, if the planes are still flying. You might just be bouncing images back from Paris with your Super-Bounce Low-Atmospheric camera, weight 20 grams, price $27 million (cheap! got it on Black Sunday)—which kind of reduces the motivation of actually GOING there. (Be sure to buy the intercontinental no-jiggle model.)

Right! When reading about the lack of VF as a deal breaker, I'm remembering that at the photography beginning there was a black cover over the photographer head; I'm wondering, not getting a black cover with the camera being then a deal breaker :) ?

Coming back to my shot, some friends of mine remarked that such rivets would have been enormous, but they agreed some fixing had been done to the wing...

All the best,

Augustin

What setting do you have your p600 on I can’t get close to take good of a photo on my p600. Do you use a tripod as well
I'm sorry to disappoint you, Marco, but that thread is more than ten years old and frankly I forgot my settings, but I know it wasn't anything special, just the good P mode selected, no tripod and several tries until an acceptable one achieved.

All the best and happy shooting,

Augustin
