SONY RX100I - WHERE IS BEST TO BUY? - REPUTATION & PRICE WISE (UK)

Hi there,

I had delivered on Saturday the above camera from ukcamerastore which unfortunately is faulty. I have spoken with them and they have agreed a full refund as they do not have a replacement to send.

I need to purchase a camera quite soon now as my baby is due in two weeks. I don't want to order from a company that will despatch from Hong Kong and I do not want refurbished or a grey product.

Sadly I am out of pocket at the moment until the ukcamerastore receive my faulty camera so can anyone recommend a good deal/good company to purchase this camera from in the UK?

All help appreciated.

SLR Hut is showing it at £259.99 right now. They have a good reputation though I haven't ordered from them myself.

I got mine from Amazon while they still had the Sony cashback offer on.

Thanks - I have heard SLR Hut send from Hong Kong so I'm not sure, but you can't argue with the price!

You have Amazon over there. They have a very good return policy here in the US ( colonies ) and competitively priced. You can get it in two days. You might want to consider the II model also as it has a BSI cmos sensor which is better in low light.

digtal rev was the best not too long ago. i got it for a great price. i know its gone up since december but its worth checking. i got it delivered in 2 days from hong kong

I had the same issue 2 weeks ago. I didn't want to use SLR hut or any other Hong kong places.

I used Flubit through Amazon and they gave me a price of £260, but I found out it wasn't through Amazon but Hangsun, who despite having a north London depot/office seems to get their stock from Hong Kong. A shame though as they sell it for £240 directly.

I ended up getting it very cheap through ebay, which is an option if you don't mind it being 2nd hand. It seems to sell for around £170 although I got it a bit cheaper.

Unfortunately you missed the £40 cashback from Sony by a week.

But try Flubit if you want a few quid off the Amazon price, just make sure it doesn't come back with a price from Hangsun as you could get it cheaper from them directly.

I opted in the end to purchase from UK Digital Camera - who although were not offering the bundle I had before - custom made me the same bundle (well the accessories are all different but I assume very similar) for a cost of £13 more which I accepted as hopefully it should be with me later today.......whoop whoop!
