**** Weekly Wildlife Thread 1-10 to 1-15-2015 ****

Thanks. Today was brighter than the gloom of 2 days ago. The quality at 5000 or even 6400 is a big and welcome surprise. Not perfect but good enough for the photos to be enjoyable. It's also surprising to me that even 6400 is not always enough. I haven't yet dared to go higher.

Excellent shots. I'm not sure how you achieved the last one.

Wow, Steve, these are great. My favorite is #2, that's a great capture. I love watching Northern Harriers prowl the fields. I would love it more if I could get one pic as good as yours!

I think the 3rd one is a winner! Nice job, Mister Roboto. BTW, is it a multiple exposure of the same bird?

That Bath Tub duck is a little scary looking - but it's my favorite. Great job with the creativity, fmpicture.

Please Mr. Ichiro Kitao, give me a Wildlife Zoom camera (WZ) with a 200 - 1200mm reach and able to take a TC, and with a fast lens and all the goodies to make it fast operationally.

Nice job, Trafford. Hope the Junco got a good snack for being a good model.

Thx Rodger & Myssvictoria, the symmetrical effect is indeed too much easy ( i use it from ACDSee pro 6), i try not to use it too often, but it is right it gives some results i like.

Duck feathers are incredible it is hard to believe they are natural on a pic, in this pic i tried to keep the colors right and this isnt so easy because there are so many in a duck, here i wanted the brown and yellow not to be too much saturated but the green of the neck had to pop from its blue, so i didnt add as much contrast as i wished.

Winter and bad weather dont actualy help for colors but i find FZ 1000 already very good !

Fabulous, Bruce! Nice to see it in the wild. I did a search and found one of your old threads on tiny shrimp that included a pic of your gear that might be of interest to viewers.

So you may want to wait to post new pics. But please do continue to comment! Thanks for sharing and commenting!

Those oare terrific, awesome! well done!

Great shots, Peter. I like the "eye lashes" on the last, front-on portrait.
