I can't answer this question, but I have a the predecessor of the Metz 24 AF-1 which works perfectly. As a big plus with this one you can point the flash to the ceiling as well.
When I buy flash gear (like radio triggers) for the Sigma cameras the Canon stuff seems to have contacts that line up best. Do not have a Metz though.https://www.metz.de/en/flash-units/...its/mecablitz-24-af-1-digital/data-sheet.html<...>I have checked in the website of Metz:
Which version you have for Merrils (Canon, Nikon, Olympus, Pentax, Sony)?
Target5,The article that you have mentioned refers to Metz 20 C-2 that works with any Sigma cameras with central contact on the hot shoe (x-synchronization) and on the basis of this is, I think, is an universal flashgun.
The Metz 24 AF1 don't work in that way, it is like Kendall says that we must choose the Canon version of this flashgun?
Metz 20 C-2 is a universal flash that I've used with all three generations of DP2 (original, Merrill, Quattro). With Quattro you will want to turn off the exposure preview in the main menu (requires updated firmware) so that you can frame correctly. The article that you have mentioned refers to Metz 20 C-2 that works with any Sigma cameras with central contact on the hot shoe (x-synchronization) and on the basis of this is, I think, is an universal flashgun.
