Found this Lion Fish while diving a wreck in Fiji. I used the Canon G7 with the Canon underwater housing.

Quite good but I think you cropped it too close, A bit of a shame to not display all of the beautiful fins. Sorry for being a bit harsh. The three best tips for UW photography is 'get close', 'get close' and 'get close' but I think you got slightly too close here. ;)

"Found this Lion Fish while diving a wreck in Fiji." Just so ya know, we all now officially hate you. :-P

Unfortunately I no longer have the camera anymore. It was actually your recent posts with the G7 photos that reminded me how much I liked the G7 and prompted me to dig out this photo:)

I agree with you that this is too close but it wasn't by choice or by cropping:)

We were diving a wreck in Fiji about 60-70 feet down when we must have startled the Lion Fish and it was suddenly right in front of us. I was able to shoot a few frames none of which have the entire fish in the frame as it was so close. The photo that I posted was the last photo that I took before I moved as it was getting too close for comfort for me:)

The photo was taken without strobes just with the G7 flash and the diffuser that came with the Canon underwater casing.

I'm loving these G7 threads! It's really nice to see what the 'old' cameras can do. That's a very nice shot! Thanks for sharing, and please share more if you have them.

I posted a test picture of a Pizza the wife made and this person "Cane" posted this nasty post about my effort. Canes post(You should flood the board with pedestrian pics from around the house from this old camera.)

Seems cane only wants to see the highest quality pictures and anything less gets his thumbs down.

Fantastic shot of equally fantastic specimen of lion fish.

Thank you for sharing what "ancient" camera can do.

Happy New Year!
