PART 2- This Week Through YOUR m4/3 2014.12.20 -PART 2

That's a good first try. It's a nice composition. I haven't seen the light beams from the Shard before. I think it could use a bump in brightening. There are probably airplanes passing through the sky every few minutes, so it might be tough to get a shot without plane trails. I usually clone out plane trails, but others may not mind them.

I like the scene through the window and the almost monochrome look with the natural selective colour. Here, for my personal preference, I would crop the left side to include the window mullion but exclude any space to its left. I would also be inclined to correct the horizontal perspective distortion to enhance the graphic look.
yes, I agree on both accounts,
I may outsource the process to LearningforeverIhope. ;-)

Thanks!

I wanted to outsource the reprocessing of the image, but my sub-contractor is busy on other dpreview posts. ;-)

Re-cropped, straightened out, and b&w.

Yup - think it works better.

Nicely done. I still like the colour but this is nice as well. Not sure why you wanted to outsource the reprocessing since you did a very nice job of it.

Happy Holidays!

I did it myself, but was coached a little. ;-)

I'm eager to learn. It's fun!

No - what the stadium is called & what it's used for.
It is the 1976 Olympic Stadium and it serves as a paper weight for the billions and billions of dollars spent on it and as National Training Centre for roofers. Otherwise there were baseball matches for the time we had a major league team, the Montreal Expos, there's the Impact playing in the Concacaf champion league during winter those years we qualify, a Grey Cup canadian football match even less often, dentists conventions or others, monster trucks, motocross competition, RV dealers camp there one given week, music of all sorts including the OSM (a bit megalomaniac sometimes, of the Carmina Burana persuasion this year), parties , parties , parties... Mostly it is a cause for debates about what to do with it.

More importantly it is the first thing we see whenever we go out of the house. Click.

Wonderful. They have a Chihuly feel to them, especially the 12th one. I wish more performances would let us capture and share our experiences.

Right. Was it the subject of a night shot a while back? I guess these things divide opinion but I rather like it. It seems ahead of its time.

One of the very first pics with my new GX7. 14-42 kit lens at 20mm. Not this week, but my first M43 week...

More like tons of them: it is a good practice field. Maybe this one?

...and yes they built a smaller stadium just in front for summer soccer matches.

As looks go both the stadium and the Velodrome (now Biodome ) are good looking. The former really needed some work to stay together though.

Great looking bike - Excellent detail

Monty

Very smart bike, very sharp picture.

I see I'm not the only one who has been too busy with the holidays to be entertaining their favorite hobby. Before everyone really gets involved with their family and friends the next couple of days I wanted to get this greeting out.

I've learned a lot this year with your help, and hope to continue to do so next year.

These are just submitted for your enjoyment. No need to CC them. They are photos I took last Christmas that haven't had a lot of exposure on the forum. I hope they help you get in the mood.

There won't be a White Christmas for me this year. I'll be staying in Florida. I hope snow brightens your holidays without ruining your travel plans. :-)
