Has anyone heard any recent info on when the rumored update might be available? I'd heard December and thought possibly before Christmas to potentially boost sales.

I don't need 4k,I want my 4kI want my XAVC!
Did you read my posting? Its the same site I posted before, but with translation link from Google.
Turns out it can get faster. This is a nice update... cannot wait to get my teeth into the XAVC output now.Quicker? My A77ii is so quick it couldn't be any quicker, unless you mean in low light.
Not available on the US site yet.
Curious...what's the procedure now for installing the update.
As of 7:58 PM CDT no update shown.

It is now available from the UK site, so the USA should be here tomorrow. You do NOT need a new card to update the camera with V2.00. However, like all cameras that want to use the XAVC-S codec, you will need an SDXC card if you want to use XAVC-S for video.I went to the Sony USA site and couldn't find it. I went into a customer service chat room and was informed the firmware update is not yet available here. I didn't feel comfortable downloading from the Chinese site given all the problems that are possible when trying to download something from a non-sanctioned site. Recently I got an adware virus when trying to download a manual for my TV. Think I'll wait for the Sony USA site. I'm a bit confused about if I have to get a new, expensive card to use my camera with the upgrade?
Found it on the US site this AM.....Dec 11, 2014.
Didn't see any separate instruction file.
Downloaded file name is Update_ILCA77M2V200.exe.
I'm a very cautious person. If I run this will it split into instruction plus a file I'm supposed to run? I read either here or on Dyxum that you update via UBS cable. I want to know what to expect before I do anything.
