I don't usually post deals, but I have been watching this since my 12-24mm broke. Only $287 for the Rokinon 12mm f/2 for US buyers. I think it was $330 or so a couple days ago, and I had originally pre-ordered it for $500 I think a few months ago but decided I didn't need it, now I can't say no...

This is a manual focus lens, and be sure you are on the Samsung, the other mount versions are also cheap, but don't want to buy the wrong one on accident.

That's a good price for an excellent lens. I wish I didn't already have one since I paid more than that.

That is a very nice price. I feel like I have received good value from the one I purchased for $80 more than this price.

Thank you for pointing it out. Yes, must watch out or will get a E-mount by mistake. I'll have to check out some reviews on that lens.

You should start posting more deals! This one is as good as purchased! Street photographer's dream of a lens!

So tempting. I was planning to wait for the rumored 11-24mm S, but this sounds great at this price. They also have the cine version of this lens for $325. What to do?

Arggh, too soon for this year's budget! :-|

I have been thinking this would be nice to have, as many reviews say it's an ideal star-shooting lens. I have a 17mm fisheye with edge-to-edge field similar to a 14mm, but f/4 and distortion are points against it for many uses. Too bad the silver isn't on sale, that would go nicely on the white nx300..

Thanks!

Just snagged one.

Not sure why a 12mm needs an f-stop of 2.0 or a minimum focus distance of eight inches but I ain't gonna complain either!

Good price. Amazon charges tax, so it's $305 for me, and it's been down to $320 shipped from a few other authorized retailers for a while, but... all in black. I decided if I'm going to pay a lot of money for this lens, I really want the silver version, but it's not been on similar sale yet :(

Amazon now has the Rokinon 12mm T2.2 Cine Lens for Samsung NX down to $230. The price has been steadily dropping about $10-$20/day so it may go even lower. I could no longer resist.

Got it!

At $230 including free one day shipping worth $20.

Just told my wife "Two guys, Eric and Nougat77 made me buy it". (really),

And Thanks guys.

Coming with Sunday delivery before 8 P.M.

Will enable me to put off the 12-24 until I go NX1 or NX40 when possible.

Glad I could help! And tell your wife Nougat77 said to buy her something nice too. :)

So tempted to grab one. But what is the difference between the 2 lens post in here?

Rokinon Cine CV12M-NX 12mm T2.2 Cine Lens

Rokinon 12mm F2.0 NCS CS Ultra Wide Angle Lens

The Cine lens is $60 cheaper but max aperture of 2.2 compared to 2.0 of the other one. Are there any other differences?

Is it optically identical to the non-cine version? Just the aperture/focus mechanisms being different?

That is the general understanding with Rokinon's cine lenses, although I've never seen that confirmed anywhere by Rokinon. I have read that they are optically the same as the non-cine lenses, but they have a "de-clicked" and geared aperture ring, a geared focus ring with clear markings and a longer throw for more precise focusing when using a follow focus.

Hmm... that's the only thing holding me back :( Also tax from Amazon. I've been after the silver version of the non-cine kind, but that's not been on sale yet, only the black :( The non-cine in black is back down to $295 on Amazon.

Another thing I wonder about: the T stops on the cine version start at 2.2 and then go up in the same value increments as normal F stops on the non-cine version. So 2.2, 2.8, 4, 5.6, etc. on the cine version and 2.0, 2.8, 4, 5.6, etc. on the non-cine version. I think T2.2 ~ F2.0, but then why is the rest the same? Just curious as I've never used a cine lens before.

P.S.: Looks like the current "cine" line is getting phased out in favor of cine DS as per this article:

The do have the Silver version II fisheye onsale for $187. I just ordered... I am so in trouble... :)

But you have to want a fisheye. I don't know if version II performs better than version 1, which had some color cast to corners. Will find out. There were only 2 left, be sure you are on NX version and not Fuji or Sony E version.

Thank you--not really interested in a fisheye lens at this time. I'd love the 10mm version or the 12mm.

Found a B&H review of the 12mm cine lens (along with 2 others):

They say that the focusing ring has some issues with consistency. Sometimes, rotating the ring does not produce any noticeable focusing change.

P.S.: the non-cine black version is down to $280.55 now! For cameras without EVF, non-cine might be more convenient, since it's easier to see the markings on the top side of the lens when looking at the back screen to focus rather than on the side. Although photographs show that the focus/aperture mark is at the top for the cine lens. I'm confused on that account....

Are you sure it is version II? B&H has version II black or silver as 'Coming Soon'.
