Hi David. Are you referring to Les Freed's shots? I fully agree with you. Those images are very beautiful. I sure am also glad that I have that camera on order, and all the lenses and accessories are already in the camera bag. So far all the samples from the production D30s are very good.

Cheers!

Sorry Daivid. I did not know which Samples III you were talking about. I had not seen Phil's new gallery at that point. So I though that you were talking about Les Freed's images. Then I saw Phil's post and started a new thread on that subject. Then I realized that you must have been talking about Phil's new Gallery.

Sorry for starting a new thread on the subject of this thread which you started.

Cheers!

These photographs that I keep seeing are great, but they don't tell me anything (at least, not what I want to know). Would anyone know of any sites or links which show pictures of MULTIPLE PEOPLE being shot in the same frame through the Canon D30?

FWIW....My dealer tells me he should be shipping my order by weeks
end.

Those samples have made me very anxious

You probably won't seen samples of multiple people. At least not full length.

3.25 mp chips can't handle that. I have the Fuji s1 and you can't do full length

horizontal without the image falling apart. I believe that the D30 will be the same.

Full length verticle is acceptable but not horizontal. In fact you can probably shoot

waist up horizontal with multiple people but not full length. You need a 6mp sized
chip for that.

Hey Mike,

I hear you..I just want to see ONE which I can GF up and compare. I don't ask too much, eh????? I would figure that someone would think that it is an obligation to produce these images.

By the way, a fellow I work with at Bride Photo has produced some very good "large group" images with his S1. I think that a lot of it has to do with the paper that he his producing on. It is very forgiving in terms of its image - and the images look great.

He actually produced me a 16x20 which looked pretty good from a 1440x990 (i htink) image file. I was impressed - though at close distance it looked grainy.

Hi Sharon,

Lustercolor.com I think is who he uses. 3.25 per 8x10 - use their standard matte paper. Images looks great and are very forgiving to digital cameras -what is best is that it appears to be the same type surface used by most pros these days for wedding albums, etc.

Anyway to make a long story short - even if a camera has difficult doing it, I want to be able to evaluate for myself. I am sure that someone has SOME multiple profile pics (both full length and 1/2 length) with this digicam.

ON the subject of seeing a greater diversity of shots, I would love to see some long telephoto shots with and without extenders. Surely one of the great benifits of the digital SLRs is we are freed from the 35-115mm resstriction of the digital compacts in fact being able to use long telephoto lenses is one of the main reasons to buy one. Another thing is that most of the samples I have seen have been shot with fairly large aperture setting with little depth of field. I would like to see how this camera performs with much smaller apertures. In fact i would like to see it really put through its paces and see what it can produce at the more extreme limits of its capabilities. If anyone has seen such pictures on other sites I would appreciate some information
many thanks
