Hi Lightpath, many thanks for your kind comment, which is very much appreciated. Cheers, Rob.You're doing a great service to X-S1 owners, and to those considering purchases, by posting these images. They really show how capable (in good hands) this camera can be.
Hi Speedex, thank you for your comment. I'm coming from the FZ30 that I found a pleasure to use. I had been looking for a replacement for a long time, and when the X-S1 was on Amazon UK in a daily deal for £220, it just seemed too good to miss, so I took a punt. I am enjoying the improved EVF, wider and longer reach, longer battery life. Except improvement at the long end I would put the IQ on par with FZ30. What I miss about the FZ30 is the fixed zoom and the ability to fold the screen face down into the body. All in all I am pleased with the X-S1, it is hell of a lot of camera for 220 quid and I will definitely be keeping it. Cheers, Rob.Big Apple with a big lens, bravo. The long shots always bring to mind that while it's not a D4 with a 600mm AF Nikkor, in the right hands, it ain't bad, plus you save 10 grand !
Bravo.
It also puts me in mind to think in a world with an RX10, and FZ1000, and the forthcoming Canon big-sensor bridge, it would be a shame for the XS to be a one-time only product, knowing full well with Fuji's engineers on the case, an XS-2 could be a monster. Time will tell.
