They MOVED the shutter button.
They MOVED the shutter button to where it's supposed to be.
The moved it back to the grip where it belongs!
Nice job, Sony. Pre Order based on that alone. Finally, they've abandoned retrovation. Hallelujah.

But clearly, the marquis feature is IBIS. And IBIS will make my old manual focus lenses even more relevant.

I would love love love to get this, but I need to try to hold off for a while. So many lens purchases recently. I'd like to see what happens with the A9 Pro model too. Oh, who am I kidding? I'll probably have a moment of weakness.

Freeing up the money now for a pre-order when announced. I've been waiting for a backup to my current A7. This is it.
I must say that announcing this in November is the dumbest marketing move since the Osborne computer fiasco in the 1980s, when they announced an enhanced tote-able just before Christmas, and the dealers were stuck with unsellable older models.
I now am sure there was collusion with Zeiss on the Loxia lens line. If you read the treatise on the Zeiss site about why manual focus is better than AF for critical work, it's clear this is a super-pro model. Probably $1000 more than a current A7.

Press release says 190,000 yen, which is about $1600. Usually Japan's a bit cheaper so I'll guess about $1800

There is a big difference between Sony phones and Sony A7 cameras.
Apple has ~90% of the Japanese smartphone market.
The A7 II will take 70% of the mirrorless market.
For all those who have been bellyaching about absence of OSS in Sony primes, that thread can be ended
