PART 3- This Week Through YOUR m4/3 2014.11.15 -PART 3

I continue to be amazed at the beautiful architecture you have near you to photograph. I can see why are motivated to become so good at capturing them. Well done, yet again.

Thanks Florida. So whilst I do appreciate that I have some lovely stuff available, a good part of my architecture pictures are done with fairly ordinary subjects. The trick is to open your eyes to what is around you. We all see things in our different way. Where you see beautiful landscapes I just see a jumble that I can't make sense of.

To illustrate my point, remember the humble beach huts?

OK Michael, I just don't get why you are complaining about the price of this. Well I do, but hells bells that is going to be one spectacular building by the master himself.

When will it open? I'm going to book my ticket to visit!

I googled a bit.

Some nice renderings here. These pictures contain a close up of the building work, the steel looks like it's coated.

These are very stylish. First and last work best for me.
Stylish is my middle name. The last in the set is my favourite.
Tried defishing (or at least straightening a horizon) with Hugin but struggled a bit.
It's a tricky piece of software I used this tutorial when I started but there is not much help on the web. It's been a painful learning curve and I still swear a lot when I have to use it.
Thanks - bookmarked. I tried these vids

but what he does doesn't seem to work on my PC.
I had a look - I never had any luck getting the control points to work though I tried. I assume you're talking about an FE image here? Were you trying to level it or to de-fish?
No - a 9-18mm, set to 12mm with a slight but annoying bow in the horizon.
Follow the instructions in the link I gave you. The input paramaters need to be rectilinear, 9mm for the FL and 2 for the FL multiplier. The output should also be Rectilinear. Then try playing with the FL input parameter. Set it to 9.5mm and go from there. That should get rid of some of the barrelling.
Cheers Yaelle - I'll have a go, ISTR it set the parameters automatically on the 9-18.
I've just realised I gave you the wrong info - where I said to set the FL to 9/9.5 I meant 12/12.5 which is of course the FL of the picture. With the FE you have to set the parameters manually as that info isn't communicated from lens to camera. Obviously that's different with the Oly/Panny lenses and Hugin picks it up automatically.

If you can't get rid of the barrelling you could try and 'fish' the image by choosing a different output projection, Panini General for example. You can get some quite interesting results.
I will. The video tutorial is based around the FE.

BTW we're making a beautiful rainbow coloured thread here. People will come from far and wide to marvel at its irridescence.
But dammit, what I want to know is how you got into my hallway? Did you sweet-talk my butler or summat?
You live in Somerset House? I would have been nicer to you if I'd known.

Yes - I admired it myself when I made my last post :-D

Do you think there are other forum members eavesdropping on our conversation?

I bet you'll love it when it's all done and will take some amazing pictures.

The second one works best for me. Maybe because of the higher contrast. Very nice..

Point well made my dear. That was a very ordinary scene made extraordinary.

Even this weekend when I was specifically targeting my Portrait without a face thing I couldn't help myself seeing the landscape possibilities. I guess its just the way each of us is wired. When I did architecture stuff this past summer I had to really work at it a lot more.

Well yes there are Yaelle, but only because I keep getting notified of activity and when I click then here I am, eavesdropping! Peculiar word, that! Not an eave in sight as far as I know.

I'm not. That's for sure. I have no idea you guys are even talking. :-P

Cute! Christmas starts earlier every year. :-)

Michael

Very cute indeed and no shortage of colour.

I hate those light up things! They look good, I buy them, one year later the lights don't come on and it is a pain trying to find the reason why. Too bad they aren't wired in parallel as they should be but then they would have to cost $0.50 more for the transformer.
