My dream FUJI X-Pro2 a-la-carte: Graphite edition

I like it Villa! I have been wondering how the X100T would look in Graphite. Any chance you could work one up?

Xplate, here is your "X100G" :

Not sure were the "G" comes from. I think the next one will probably be the X100F .That is: X100, X100s (second), X100T (third), X100F (fourth). A Fuji exec has already stated in an interview that the "T" stood for "third". I don't know what will happen when the get to the fifth in the line ;)

PS: I'm trying to find the link to the interview (Just checked- it's not the recent one with Toshihisa Iida on dpreview)

I hope this time Fuji will have enough sense to add a grip. Even a small grip on X-T1 was a great improvement. Ideally, the lens would be moved to the left and a substantial grip like in Sony cameras would be on the right.
Personally I hope they make the camera more inline with the X100 or Leica M. I.e. no steekin grip. Viewfinder on the left, slightly larger with a more solid and rugged build. I wouldn't mind a sapphire glass cover for the rear display.

"G" as in Graphite... Obviously is not real or pretend to be.

Ahh I see now...good call
Obviously is not real or pretend to be.
Obviously ;)

PS haven't been able to find anything that has been officially stated about the meaning of the "S" and "T"...only rumour sites and blogs. Must have imagined it.

Now that you mention it, I search for the S and T meaning and no luck so far. So, why not have our own A-la-carte G as in Graphite version? :))

I like it a lot; as a matter of fact I have been thinking lately that Fujifilm should bring 2 versions of the X-Pro2: one with an 18/35mm OVF and one with ie. an 23/50mm OVF; one of these versions could then be your graphite edition.

Yes!! I'd love to see a graphite edition too!

Don't care for the grip - I'll use the one on Luigi's half case (from Leicatime).

Mike,

I love Luigi´s cases but sometimes his prices are even more expensive than the cameras they are made for (like in the case of the XE1 half case: 200EU) so I ended up with the original "genuine" leather case from Fuji, which looks anything but real :((

I agree, that his products do present an investment. I have three (for Leica M7, Minolta CLE and X-Pro1) and be ordering the fourth tonight or tomorrow, for my (graphite silver) X-T1.

His products are of extremely high quality and I have always been very pleased with his complete service (very quick delivery). His daughter, Ginevra, is quick and accurate in her replies and information.

My pleasure using the X-Pro1 has at least doubled since I use the Thumbs Up feature, shutter release extension (orange ladybug version) and Luigi's case. Don't know if it shows in the images but I'm really pleased - and that counts for something too.

Regardless of tech specs, (Right now the Fujis are more than enough cameras for my needs) I was thinking how nice would look a new X-Pro in graphite, so this is as close as I could get playing a little in Photoshop:

I'd totally dig rangefinder-looking lenses to match the aesthetic Fujifilm were going for with the X-Pro 1. Not just size (though it would be great to shrink the big 35/1,4; 56/1,2; 23/1,4 and 14/2,8) but coherent design is something I dig.

I'm one of those most interested in the design and haptics of a camera before anything else. Basically all modern sensors perform well. But most modern cameras are dogs to use next to older, simpler cameras, or anything from Leica.

The graphite looks good. Just wish that clean front would be mirrored by a clean back and nice looking lenses/typefaces.

Kenji Leather will put a thicker grip in their half cases.

...the macros on my website were taken with Canon's 180 macro and the 5D body. I'm glad you like them.

I bought an X-Pro1 in summer of 2012 but wasn't overly pleased - I still had visions of my good old Leica M3 and while the X-Pro1 may look similar, it is far from similar technically. I sold the X-Pro1 and bought a used M8 from my dealer. Great condition at a decent price. I've never regretted purchasing almost everything through him. Anyway, I couldn't become friends with the M8. Images were mostly fine but it had a few quirks with which I knew I would be pleased. Got rid of it.

About half a year ago I bought the X-Pro1 (again), with four lenses. And very recently the X-T1. I've come to like both very much and hardly use my Canon gear at all. My goal is to experiment with the X system and see, if it can replace my Canon setup. I'm giving myself till spring/summer 2015.

One feature of the 60 macro I already don't like is the lack of a tripod mount. Sadly, even the outstanding Zeiss macros don't offer such an important (in my view) feature. A shame, that camera and lens manufacturers don't seem to actually use the hardware they produce. I often need both landscape and portrait aspects of macros - for calendars and customer requirements. Rotating the lens via tripod mount is soooo very nice! (I sell some shots for calendars and provide some for charities.) I guess they're all looking to reduce cost at all cost. Hmm, sounds a bit odd.

So that's my long-winded story about those macros. Just maybe, I'll be shooting macros with the X-T1 some day - once I find an angle finder which fits the camera. Such an oversight by Fujifilm, sigh.

Not my cup of tea. I'll be buying the black version, but to each his own.

Are you referring to a tilting viewfinder or a level? What about the tilting screen?

...only in landscape orientation. I probably not so pleasant in bright sunlight - have yet to shot with the X-T1 in that situation. But in portrait aspect, I'd need to lay prone in the dirt & mud. Haven't done that since my Army days. One (pocket) calendar requires portrait orientation. I often take two shots or my subjects, in different orientations - a tripod mount is an important feature then too.

...my comments to Vic. I also know, that I could sync an iPad or iPhone to the X-T1 using WiFi. I'm not overly keen on this since, while I have them, I don't like carrying them during my photographic outings. And, to be truthful, I prefer as many non battery-operated items as possible. Probably a generation thing. I image it a bit awkward, to kneel low focusing the lens to fractions and viewing an iPad. I miss my good old (large & heavy) Pentax 6x7.
